SanDisk calls it: Microsoft Pink being announced on Monday
Good secrets are hard to keep, and it looks like at least one of Microsoft's trusted partners has spilled the beans on the company's big announce for Monday. SanDisk used the occasion -- the unannounced occasion, that is -- to let some members of the press know today that Microsoft's Pink devices will be compatible with its line of microSD cards. That seems like a pretty lame way to ride on the coattails of a big hardware launch, but then again, when your most exciting products are nondescript pieces of plastic half the size of a postage stamp, how else are you going to make the news?

@NaJaKwa I think it is. But it also needs to be backed by firmware from the phone. For example you might be able to fit a 16GB MSD into a phone, but if the phone's firmware only supports 8, then it won't work. Learned that the hard way a couple times ^^.
@hated one Yup. Who wants to expand memory? =?
"Let me guess you're only gonna allocate internal memory for apps. (512 mb) "
"'ya got your RAM in my external memory". "You got your extrernal memory in my RAM". They're not the same thing. The iPhone doesn't process off of the internal mem, it stores apps, music there. Just some fun facts for you =)
Meh?
@n0ne
pink........ reminds me of Victoria secret panties and breast cancer.
Why do I feel like Pink is going to be very underwhelming? I hope they announce the Courier along with it.
Is Pink those weird looking phones that were rumoured to be introduced by Microsoft?
I don't think I have the right email address, someone please get this to the right person at Microsoft:
To: (whom it may concern)
Subject: April 13th Press Conference
New Business Model:
1. Announce the Courier
2. Excite fanboys & the world
3. ???
4. Profit!
Youtube has a "pink in the wild" video.

I like turtles.
"One more thing... COURIER"
where is my COURIER..
i want one. now.
Wow... I was really hoping for a better announcement than the "pink"
Microsoft Pink will probably be as about as important as the singer Pink performing on a trapeze for people who don't care that she's performing on a trapeze.
Yeah. Stupid Microsoft did not threated to kill SanDisk CEO if they reveal MS secrets beforehand. they need to take example from Apple.
sigh. i'm rooting for MS but who really cares about Pink at this point? supposedly this is targeted towards the younger crowd. guess what, the iphone has already taken over the younger crowd (as seen by the majority of app sales being games). you're not going to win them over with some cute little candy coloured phone. kids are much more tech savvy than most adults these days.
@stevelam
Exactly..... Whats all the hulabaloo sending out invites to announce something that wont grab headlines?
Those phones that was shown a few months back, is getting the final announcement? Those very lackluster phones?!
that was a dick move, sandisk.
I wonder if Microsoft Pink will be "So Magical and Revolutionary"???????????? ;)
@shoxite they better be
"when your most exciting products are nondescript pieces of plastic half the size of a postage stamp"
I find the fact that little piece of plastic can hold 16 gigs of data quite amazing.
I find the whole Pink thing interesting. It's like a test run of the full WinPhone User Interface. People can criticise it for the next few months, and help MS with the fine tuning of the thing.
"when your most exciting products are nondescript pieces of plastic half the size of a postage stamp, how else are you going to make the news?"
The Sansa Fuze and Clip+ are two of the best MP3 players out there. The Clip+ just got Rockbox support too.
Epic fails starts Monday then. Ok.
Project Pink can very well be Microsoft's iPad moment. 'Pure' disappointment.

I still have faith that pink wont be the only thing announced...... Or announced at all....... Many people including myself couldnt care less about a silly little feature phone when courier has so much more to offer..... If it is the only thing announced then well over the bridges and through the woods an android phone I will go......
So is this going to be the "next iPhone killer"? If so they can take a number and wait in line.
