why?
@PENISCRUSHER
Can anyone understand this thing?????
I think the bottom is a rather waste of real-estate.
@abedinthehouse well, I don't think that there is a waste of estate, but... I have no clue what the hell I'm looking at.
@PENISCRUSHER It looks big in that picture, but if you ompare it to the size of the usb, it's actually pretty small.
*Compare*
You'd think with all the money apple throws at em they could afford to pay a programmer to add an edit feature. (JK, plz don't delete me!)
Hmm, and that brings up a good point; @engadget why can you delete our posts when we can't!
@engadgetcomexcludeengadget
Administrator privilege I guess. Just log yourself as : admin, pass: apple. :-P
FAIL.
@PENISCRUSHER
It would be cool if that bottom part was solar cells and it charged while playing a slideshow.
@PENISCRUSHER got it! That bottom slider must be manual swip to unlock. :)
I... don't understand...
I can't say I quite understand what I'm looking at.
The bottom bit looks like someone stuck an oversized pregnancy test to a speaker.
@Professor Hubert J Farnsworth
I'll pee on it and we'll find out.
what is this???
@lars1110 Wouldn't it be cool if it was called just that?
@Abacus The new
'Flip WIT'
i must say, i am confused...
but, i do like the shark fin near the usb. does that mean this thing is water proof, or just guaranteed to scare the girl you are video taping at the beach from behind your chair?
As far as I can tell the only purpose of the slide mechanism is to put the screen at a better angle for viewing while it sits on a flat surface. And to reveal that difficult to understand touchpad looking strip.
Pretty weird looking product indeed.
@Zweben the display looks like touch capable as well. the tiny dots reming me cheap touch displays.
@suncho I think the dots are with resistive screens - the DS's touchscreen has those dots (as presumably other resistive displays), whereas the iPod / iPhone have a lattice (as presumably other capacitive displays).
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever laid my eyes on...
judging from your profile pic...well i guess it speaks for itself.
@Zzephyr
I thought the same before i saw your dp......
I think I get what's supposed to be happening; it opens kinda like the HTC Tilt.
What I don't get is why.
@BigJayDogg3
Yeah we all get the how part, it's the why that everyone is confused about.
@BigJayDogg3
Even my Tilt 2 doesn't get it...
......? Speechless
I don't get it, the screen looks way bigger then the slider, how is this supposed to slide closed evenly? THE EFF???
KIRF!
hi i'm 12 and what is this?
@diamond99007 Congrats on being 12
@diamond99007
Pedobear is after you. And you should be in bed. Ah who am I kidding I'm 15.
@diamond99007 Why did you feel the need to share your age with us?
The bottom part looks like some sort of speaker to me.
Kind of like my old Samsung K5!
Why they would do that, I don't know.
It's almost 2am here; am I dreaming? Is this real?
The original point of the flip was cheap camcorder. Now regular camcorders are getting cheaper, and even regular point-n-shoot digicams can shoot HD video, yet the flip is getting more expensive? Once you cross the $200 price point, a point-n-shoot digicam is more desirable as you would get better optics, removable memory, and ability to take great pictures.
that looks ugly
I'm guessing the silver part houses touch sensitive controls, that probably illuminate when called for.
iPAD KILLER!
@Johnny Rockets Does it do Flash?
no stickers on it? really?
Yum. Do want.
well...its like the touch pro 2 that slides even more vertically. and except for a keyboard, its got some kind of Slider navigation system. maybe u use it to fastforward video
this is how i see it its a regular flip but u slide the side to see play back in a larger screen
I might be able to understand it if I saw its transformation in action.
There's more real estate behind the screen. You can kind of guestimate how much by the USB arm. So when closed I'm sure it's a solid and even piece. This is the playback position. Who ever took this pic did it at a bad angle with a wide lens setting. I'm sure it looks much more natural from a different perspective. This is not the position you use it in to record.
That's my guess.
WTF????????
Looks like that long thin strip might be a touch sensitive slider.
@MrAffrox That's what the silver surfer told me... turns out he just wanted me to jerk him off.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
