For Symbian ?
@Nokia N900 why you need symbian? are you forgetting that you are Maemo! what is intel doing to you!
@Nokia N900
Yeah, no kidding. Take the time to customize an app for the Storm, which has what, a couple hundred thousand users while totally ignoring a platform with >50M users? The 5800 alone has 15M users and the E71 just as many, if not closer to 20M. Even if you assume that each Nokia device will need tweaks to customize, you can capture the bulk of the S60 market by targeting just its two most popular devices with specialized versions.
@Nokia N900
Sorry for jacking you post.
I get this error message when I'm trying to download.
"907 invalid COD File not found"
@Nokia N900
yeah how bout a symbian app? You guys do know that people outside the USA also read Engadget
@Nokia N900 Yeah plz! Symbian has users too!!!
@Nokia N900
Yup. S60v5 compatible nao plz.
@Nokia N900
I don't need a native app for Symbian, but I have some odd behaviour in Opera Mobile. Even though I have "Show mobile versions of websites" deactivated, Engadget shows me the mobile page. I click on "show full version", i get the full version. I click an article link in the full version, i get the mobile version of the article. No comments visible. HIGHLY annoying.
What's up with that?
In Opera Mini, there is no such problem.
@anispace Yes, I second you. I don't get it why they keep on ignoring the most commonly used mobile OS? (outside US)
@Nokia N900
I cast my vote as a US E71 user.
This phone owns for being more than two years old
@tocharius: Get Skyfire. Full internet (including Flash) at your fingertips. Honestly, the best mobile browser that I think exists. It has the best compatibility with every site and even loads quickly. I sound like a fucking salesman lol
Oh yeah, and I agree, bring a Symbian app forward... I'm a Nokia N95 8GB user (waiting for Nokia to unveil their first Symbian^3 phone before upgrading to a Symbian phone, or any other OS phone) and I'd love an app for S60v3. Make it happen Engadget. Symbian has a lot of users around the world, and Engadget has readers around the world. Put the two together.
Can I have a widget for my iphone app too?
Oh wait...
@loginatnine
=P
@loginatnine lol lol lol lol lol
@loginatnine
That made my day :D
Lol, thank god you gave us the Android App before the Blackberry (Storm) App - or else I really, really would have been offended.
Awesome!
Just in time to let me use it for two weeks before I dump it for an Incredible.
I had to read that title over 3 times... lol I'm going to download the app for my Storm now...
Thanks for the widget fix!! I had a spot all ready for the widget...just needed the fix and now I'm ready to rock!
@Air Force One Still crashes on me 3-5 times before it opens when going from widget :(
If you go to the market application on your phone and click on "My Downloads" this is an easy way to check for and install updates for any of your downloaded android applications.
Please hook us red headed step-children up, that are WinMo users... Just b/c WP7 is "coming" in whatever months, doesn't mean it will be all that ready for prime time, thus we're still here!!!
@Platoesq
yea i feel left out. WinMo 6.5 is still relevant at least until WP7 drops and i know i'll still have it for about a year after that. so what gives?
@SoCoolCurt Exactly. A lot of people are acting like WP7 is going to be AAA-ready right out of the box. First-adopters generally always get screwed, so expecting everything to be peachy keen out of the box is absurd, and to not support an on-going platform...? Come on, Engadget guys, hook us WinMo users up. Thanks!
@Platoesq
Really sucks not having it on windows mobile.... especially since i got the hd2. Makes me feel like it's old!
@Platoesq
Guys, they HATE Windows Mobile. Seriously. They do. Releasing an Engadget app for the platform would be offensive to their style, it would strike against their very (hipster) nature and cause a mental schism deeper than any ocean. It would strike at their core and alter their very (stylish) DNA (meaning it would literally be carcinogenic for them). They would literally vomit (and it would be super-cool, bright, multi-colored vomit like their homepage, also there would be a few Apple logos), preferably on a Windows Mobile phone, yet not one can be found in the Engadget office. As mental disorders set in, chaos ensues. "Where does one get a Windows Mobile phone? Can not I vomit onto it in peace?!? WHERE??!?!?!?" can be heard echoing through the vast, empty, lonely canyon formerly known as the mind of an Engadget editor.
Hey Engadget! On your download page you suggest I "Mouseover QR code for Bigger Image". This would be a great idea! Except, when I mouseover the image, I get a bigger QR code with a mouse pointer on it. My QR code scanner doesn't like to scan that.
You might want to change it so users click the QR code to show the big image.
@chandler Seriously? When it gets bigger, just move your mouse to the bottom right, still on the pop up, but out of the way of the bar code. You need someone to tell/explain this to you??? With your high level computing skills, I am suggesting you ditch your Android and move "up" to an iPhone...you are obviously ready for it!
@RayKinStL Dude. Not cool to be a dick.
@chandler the best solution will be that when we click on the QR code from the Android browser, it open the market:

I know that I have a good browser application, but wouldn't an iPad app be cool? The iPhone app doesn't scale very well.
@incubusmac I second that, would love to see an iPad app... that supports video
@windsorsean
perhaps they could code it with........Flash?
Engadget...there is no app for Windows Mobile....why?
How about pretty please fixing the WebOS app which hangs after doing the 1.4.1 update? :)
The Blackberry Turd?
You're condoning it Engadget! haha jk
Wow, the Blackberry app is awful. No video's? No comments? Ugh.
why are the apps so different? I've got a bb and an android phone, and while I like both apps, they offer different behaviour and functionality.
Ok...trying it right now
I don't care about the widget...the app was force closing too much after the update yesterday...hope its better now.
JUST IN TIME FOR ALL THOSE ENGADGET USERS WHO USE BLACKBERRIES... OH WAIT!
Still waiting for that Symbian app.
First off, thank you Engadget for showing some Storm love. The Storm doesn't often receive love so we appreciate it when we get it. Unfortunately, I can't say that this prog has much more functionality than a simple RSS feed viewed through Google Reader on Opera Mini. In fact, I like to view all of Engadgets topics and Google Reader Mobile only shows the topics that you haven't viewed yet making it incredible easy to differentiate between new and old posts.
Also, it's the Storm, so every KB is precious, so until Google comes out with their own Mobile Prog, I'm going to stick with Google Reader viewed on Opera Mini as my "Engadget Prog".
I know that engadget developers want to produce an iPad app....just think of the screen space just waiting for a creative mind.
Still waiting on an offline reader...
. Windows Mobile please :)
@SDreamer WORD!!!
@SDreamer YES PLEASE!!!!!
Written from my HTC desire which arrived in the post this morning!
Look, all you stupid people asking for an iPad app -- why can't you just BROWSE to the damn website?
