iPad international launch delayed until the end of May
Update: Rogers has come forward and confessed that it'll be offering the 3G iPad "from the end of May in Canada," though it's keeping monthly price points close to the chest for now.

Most Europeans probably aren't desperate to get their hands on iPads ... except for fanboys. Most of the content and a lot of applications (not just on iPhone/Pod/Pad) are very US centric and don't add value over here. This is even more so in the case of iPad since it is a visual media consumption device. In Spain, where I live, we don't have iTMS Video store, iBooks, ABC App, Hulu etc. aren't/wont be available for a long time either (took Amazon long enough to bring Kindle to Europe and availability of non-US/English titles is still very poor). What are you going to do with one in Europe? Look at super huge album art covers? Situation in the UK is better.
Hey Americans thats really not on you lot purchased the lot, now us UK's have to wait, think you should all donate your iPads to us :-)
Goodness have i been corrupted. Is it bad that i cant look at a map of europe without seeing the sweden/finland penis combo?
not that i giggle or make some immature comment about it. i just notice it.
CANADA?
@werty1432k not happy about end of may.
Luckily I'm traveling to Toronto/niagara from the uk, so will drive to buffalo for one. Is there a best buy or apple store there I wonder? Also hopefully get to claim my tax back when I leave.
UK stiffed again I guess it will give apple time to sort out all the problems and bugs. I can wait but hope they don't put it back again!
Hi all, if I buy an ipad in NYC does it have an international warranty? I am in the UK
Disappointed doesn't begin to describe how Canadians like myself feel at being treated as second-class customers. Incensed and teased is more accurate. Considering the fact that our entire population is less than that of California, I suspect that Apple could just as easily have done a US and Canada launch without batting an eyelash.
More than 75% of Canadians live within 160 kms (100 miles) of the US border. So to us, being shut out feels to as if your neighbour (who is also your best friend) is having a wonderful bar-b-q with free burgers and beer, but you're not invited. Or at least not until after all the beer is gone.
This is particularly incensing when we're subjected to videos of spoiled brat american kids who can't find a better way to have fun (or use their money) then to spend $500+tax on an iPad and then within minutes trash it with a baseball bat.
It just sucks all around!
@aslamn I am suprised I did not think Canada was International anymore!
@kylemullaney Ouch... are you kicking a man when he's down?? :P
We've already been denied our iPads, at least we should have our sovereignty.
What I find impressive is that the iPad sold in 1 week more than any other tablet computer sold in their lifetime. Of course that's not including convertible notebooks, but I would consider those as touchscreen laptops and not true tablets.
Hi all, I live in the UK, but if I buy one from apple store in NYC do they have international warranty?
they forgot Canada too... so its just no Europe
One thing that I find quite strange is that for the first time today every Best Buy in Orange County, CA and in LA county (that I have checked online) is sold out! Really? they were readily available since launch and all of a sudden they magically disappear?

I managed to get an ipad from eBay UK. only problem now is that i have to wait longer for the accessories. It's a great device, well worth the wait.
*Ahem...*
FUCK Rogers
I can see them rolling out $50 iPad plans right now.
@ChaoZ
I doubt they would do that. I have a feeling they will charge $30.00 per month for unlimited data, much like the promotional offer they extended to iPhone users when that device launched. (Which I signed up for at that time and will most likely sign up for when the iPad is available, if my hunch is correct.)
A DELAY??? That's it, Jobs. Prepare to feel the unrivalled power of my Blue Eyes White Dragon! Now my great beast, Attack Steve's life points directly! White Lightning!
I doubt that Rogers will be "offering" the iPad in Canada any more than AT&T "offers" the iPad in the US. I think they came forward to say they'll be offering wireless service for the iPad.
They should bring it out in our rich European countries first anyway, where nobody pays for health, education etc. Theyd sell 300k in uk just as quick as USA.
@ "iPad international launch delayed until the end of May"
Even Apple knows that oversea people don't need an in-between device.
That's a lousy lie if I ever heard one, Apple having problem with the iPhad WiFi, and they don't want to be embarrassed outside the US.
F**k you Steve.
Wow this thing will be a game changer. I need to get one now. eBay here I come. All you whiners go buy a hp slate or a wphone 7 tablet. O wait they don't exist and once they come out they will fail.
Of course, it is probably more likely that the production issues reported prior to the launch were genuine and that this has hit expected supply. Getting devices from Apple later than the US isn't exactly unusual and I have to say that the reviews of the device has meant that I'm going to put my order (a virtual one, of course) on-hold until later in the year. It sounds like a good product but the problems moving documents around looks like it is going to be a pain and I'll wait for them to sort that issue out first.
