Reminder: Original Xbox games lose Live support tonight at midnight PT

Just a heads up for those who long for Halo 2's embrace: as of midnight PT tonight, Microsoft is pulling the plug on Live support for original titles. As of this publication, you have a little less than seven hours (as of this writing) to get in a few more rounds of Capture the Flag and Oddball with your friends of old, before having to go out and pick up an used copy of Halo 3 -- at least there's 400 MS points in it as a consolation prize.

You can buy it on Xbox Originals but even then it's just Halo 2 running off the hard drive. It is very much an Xbox game and will be losing it's live functionality tonight.

I know it's a crappy consolation but you can still use xbox connect and play it online using your PC as a tunnel.

Don't mess with any of the gameplay or dynamics, just bring a simple live functionality to the games. Open lobbies are better than MM, they create much better and longer-lasting friendships (online).
I mean shit, I still talk to people I used to play Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon with six or seven years ago.

Did you really expect them to string those games along forever? I mean it had to happen someday.. yea it sucks but it kind of had to happen. And hey, at least Microsoft still allows xbox games to played on the 360.. unlike the ps3 which can't play ps2 or earlier games.
