@ZuTrA Irony or subliminal messages sent by Engadget to recommend the Slate without losing the Apple cashflow? I kid, but seriously, I have a feeling there will be quite a few people in the return line at the Apple stores. Hopefully enough so there will be "refurbs" for a nice percentage off sometime before the next gen comes out.
@engadgetcomexcludeengadget I am unfortunate enough to be working with the big blue, and you might as well just try to get open boxed item from them and save yourself 10%
@engadgetcomexcludeengadget I am one of the few who took back my iPad. I had a few days off with the device and I found myself going back to my Macbook Pro. Whenever there was a video that was a part of an article I was reading, I would have to jump over to a real computer. It was a hassle. The screen is awful in daylight. Attempting to use the current iPhone OS as a quasi normal computer is a pain in the ass. I could not wait for multitasking. Jumping in and out of apps for IM, browsing, and music was tedious at best. Plus the apps are way too expensive considering that 99% of these apps don't take any more time to create than an iPhone app. I hope someone gets it right, because the tablet as an idea is almost there.
