We're not about to cover every
iPad knockoff that emerges from parts unknown, but this particular device packs just enough KIRF innovation to get us to take notice. The biggest selling point, so to speak, is the tablet's sliding QWERTY keypad, which packs some MacBook-esque keys and a ThinkPad-style pointing stick. As if that wasn't enough, you'll also apparently get WIndows 7 for an OS, along with a 10-inch display of unspecified resolution, and an Atom N450 processor at the heart of rig. No indication of a price -- or even a name, for that matter -- but you can at least check out another shot of it in its closed state at the source link below.
it doesn't really look like an ipad or work like one. look more like a comically large iphone or childs toy
@jpm on that matter, it's more like a huge iPhone than the ipad is.
I think the iPad would actually pretty boss with a slider keyboard.
there's no round home button as far as I can tell, so there's nothing like iphone or ipad here. the slide keyboard is like sony L80 or many other phones as the original article implies.
I'm not understanding how this is a knock off of the iPad, it looks nothing like it in my opinion. Just because its another tablet, that shows up after the iPad, doesn't make it an iPad knock off. Let go off the iPads bezel. Lol.
For once I am more interested in the KIRF than the actual thing
I think it looks pretty cool. The fact that the top row of keys is half covered is a little troublesome, but I think a 10 inch slider is actually a rather nice idea. The switchable laptops really seem biased for laptop configuration, this design seems to favor tablet form, but still allows you to easily take a keyboard and stand with you.
Seems pretty sweet to me. I'd prefer XP on it though. I personally still think Win7 is too chunky for ANY atom currently available...
"Sideslip cottage flat with new ideas IPAD." What more could you ask for?
lol. If only these Chinese guys used their skills to making a proper product.
@dimithra
I totally agree, why do they even bother making knock-offs?
@Shlooky Well just about everything is made in China, why not?
multitouch and cheaper than slate... must have!
I can't believe it myself - but I actually think that it's a stroke of genius!
What a horrible form-factor! I had a tablet PC (Compaq TC1000) like that - the upright part is heavier than the keyboard. It was badly balanced, awkward to unfold, just a bad idea.
This is actually something I would buy for my parents instead of the HP Slate.
OMG Iits the iPhone 4g!
sigh. Where is the KIRF iPhone 4gs Post? cmon guys.
This doesn't look like an iPad, looks more like an iPod Touch!
I can't believe they made an oversized iPod Touch!!!..... oh wait....
Well, why didn't Apple think of this?...Oh wait...
Those are not MacBook-esque keys, those are Sony VAIO-esque keys.
@fourthletter They are the same.
@Atkins: I think Bill Hicks is just pointing out that VAIO did it first...
Haha, excellent. Honestly, I hope the Chinese never stop making their cheap knockoffs.
That is, until I become CEO of a major tech company.
Engaddget If this what you call an ipad Knockoff then the iPad is HP slate knockoff. this looks more like an iPhone with qwerty keyboard
If anything it looks more like the white Motorola Cliq and the Touch Pro 2 combined.
Looks more like an actual productivity machine
They're not MacBook-esque keys, they're Vaio-esque keys. MacBook keys are Vaio-esque as well.
I find it funny when KIRFs look better than the original product lol.
Judging by the smaller bezel, I wouldn't call this an iPad clone.
Judging by the smaller bezel, I wouldn't call this an iPad clone.
hey... can u even buy these KIRF products??? if yes. any link or website will be appreciated
EPIC WIN!.
this actually looks and sounds better than the iPad
Very ugly! But to be honest i am a fan of keyboard phones
lol made in china :D
If it's cheap enough, I'd buy it just to tick off certain Apple-worshipping friends. You know the ones... those who now think that the new iPhone leak is the best iPhone design ever (which it is) without admitting how much it looks like an HTC design (which it does).
This is actually the next-gen iPad, left in a Chuckee-cheese in Santa Clara. Nice work, Phil Schiller.
LMAO, they just took the iPhone design, made it bigger, threw in some Tilt, and put Windows. I'm sure it's craptastic.
my dreams have come true
a touch screen laptop with a slider keyboard
Finally, a Slider Laptop with a Touch Screen! This would be awesome to carry around. It actually looks a lot nicer than the iPad. I mean, cum on, apple, haven't we seen the iPad before? or was it just a little bit smaller.......And it can do flash!
NO WAY! Also, why should I buy this stuff if I can get a much more powerful netbook running Windows 7 for LESS?
i never wanted to buy the real ipad, and i never liked apple or any of its products but this fake ipad looks good and i think i might buy it. i heard there is a waiting list for 2 weeks, and they are selling well. i buy one for my cousin as well.
