Pair of mysterious Motorola Android handsets espied in the wild
What can we say about these two Motorola-borne Android devices? Not much, really, except from some brief and poorly machine-translated text from a Chinese forum that claims these are engineering prototypes and one might go by the code name ZN4... and that's about it. If you fancy what you see here, though, keep an eye out to the future, mmk?
Update: As iTech News Net points out, it looks like these phones are one in the same -- namely the China-bound Ming.

@googkiller
your sir have been reported for false reporting
have a nice day :)
nobody give a damn about some leaked motorola phone.. its ugly if you ask me..
phew I was about to consider holding off on the Evo until I learned about these, but then I spotted the Motorola branding. On top simply disliking them, MotoBlur is garbage.
Motorola, please stop releasing horribly designed Android phones. If you do something, please do it right! Take a couple of cues from HTC and you will learn why their marketshare has been growing. I pity you because you seem like a 1 hit wonder.
ZN4 is already a model for Motorola, its the KRAVE - and the handset on the left looks a lot like it, looks like it even has the see-through flip that the KRAVE has (See how the screen is fuzzy compared to the one on the right? That's the flip). So what you might be getting here is a KRAVE rehash with upgraded specs running android.
The other one... no clue. Could be the iDEN android handset that's coming.
My rough translation.
Just used Nokia Nokia 5530XM to take this photo.
Used for a while, it feels quite good.
You guys will see this after it is shipped/announced and it is certainly not a knockoff.
It looks like ZN4 and the machine in the photo is a prototype still under testing. As It is a prototype, the actual retail version will have higher quality than this.
By the way, this machine got 5m pixel camera.
Sorry for broken english, it's not my mother language. XP
Hope it's better than google translation LOL
Well as far as i know from other web sites is only 1 phone. is something similar to the "krave" i think it was called
Best phone from this company is CDMA, Motorola is dead to me.
Droid saved Motorola and how they follow it up? Of course by laying eggs and releasing garbage devices. Yuck!
The one on the right looks like it has a possible clear flip like the Krave ZN4 for Verizon or the MING series in the Chinese markets. Not too surprising that it'll stay in China, unless they plan to make a successor for the unpopular Krave on Verizon.
Is it just me or are Motorola phones getting uglier and uglier.
The one on the right has a front facing camera! That's cool :)
Motorola does seem to produce a lot of strange, cheap Android phones.
Motorola does have 2 devices that should be quite impressive coming - The Shadow and The Droid 2 - due out in 2 or 3 months.
Looks like the so called keyboardless Droids leaked a few months ago
@DiGiC (but with some sort of case)
Finally somebody at Motorola discovered that there are some people who liked the Krave and the Ming and flip phones in general and probably wants a bit of Android and Motoblur on it. Or at least I hope so.
Two shots of the same phone, no question.
ZN4 *was* the model number of the Krave, sold by Verizon. This looks like a similar style of phone, but surely it will have a different model number.
As many have said, this looks like a Krave variant running Android. But I have to point out (for those who haven't seen a Krave in person), these "two" phones are actually one and the same. The pic on the left has the clear cover flipped down and the one on the right has the flip cover up. You can even spy the hinge mechanism at the top of the phone on the right. Also, not the exact same placement of the charging port.
"Doesn't anyone else see this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!!" :)
@eric2184
post fail... Should be "also NOTE the exact same placement of the charging port".
Its a reeeemix....that's the moto MING...now with android 2.1 with blur 1.5...
Imagine typing on this thing. I have a friend with the generic version of this phone and its terribly cramped. Motorola is all over the place in terms of design aesthetics, even just within their Android line. Its been half a year and they still haven't released a phone better than the Droid. I suppose there is a market for lower end smartphones like this though.
There is nothing special with the handset on the left, until you turn it over and find a novel method of navigation...
wow be still my beating heart, two more ugly android phones...
The one on the right is the flip phone.
The phone on the left with the cover looks like something Engadget posted a couple weeks back. If anyone remembers it was a patent from Motorola that has some kinda translucent cover that allows for a 3D display when it is closed. Don't know about you but that sure as hell looks a lot like the patent image.
they are actually the same device..it's Android-based Ming device with a clear flip cover

"pair" of handsets? they look like the same phone to me. thats what i thought right away when i saw the pic, before even reading the headline. looks like a new MING type phone with android. its not the zn4 since that already exists (i cant believe ross even said that, are u that unfamiliar with moto? like really?), but the forum was probably saying its a zn4 type phone or successor.
