damn, people. The mother of all Dell leaks just dropped into our laps, and the absolute highlight has to be the Lightning, a
Windows Phone 7 portrait slider. That's right -- a portrait slider. The renders on these slides look slick as hell, but they're no match for the spec sheet, which looks even better: 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon processor, WVGA 4.1-inch OLED display, AT&T and T-Mobile 3G, five megapixel autofocus camera, 1GB of flash with 512MB RAM plus 8GB of storage on a MicroSD card (non-user-replaceable, we're assuming), GPS, accelerometer, compass, FM radio, and full Flash support including video playback. We'll see what happens with that -- the ship date is pegged at Q4, indicating this is a WP7 launch device, and Microsoft's told us Flash won't make it into the OS initially. Here's the real kicker, though -- other slides in the deck indicate this thing is getting an upgrade to

That is a gorgeous phone, with killer specs. This is what the next webOS phone needs to be like. Pair a phone like this with cutting edge specs, hardware that's built to last (unlike the Pre that's built out of shoddy plastic and falls apart), and the mother of all mobile phone OSes, webOS, and I'm in heaven!

@tbonez ... I agree 100% - nice large screen and I can see the keyboard clearly even in the small picture. Imagine actual size of that keyboard! I can already picture webOS running on it. Of course, no one actually has had one in their hands yet and it could be crappy hardware too... but it looks gorgeous!

Erm, okay, I am not seeing it. "The hotness" that is. It's nice and slick but I wouldn't call it gorgeous or anything - it's just a big screen on a fairly plain piece of plastic. The keyboard looks interesting, but we all know that keyboards live and die by their usability, which we can't know till this is released. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice looking phone, just not "woah!"-nice looking, which is the impression I get from comments. I think Zune HD, and even Nexus One, look nicer (except for that "nipple" on the NX1, that thing's annoying). Still, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so whatever. But the specs aren't exactly out of this world.
(Comparing "the biggies" to NX1 just 'cause it's the first one I thought of.)
Processor - both have the QSD 8250 1 GHz
Memory - both have 512MB of RAM, but this one has 1GB of ROM (NX1 only has 512MB of ROM)
Camera - both 5MP
Battery - both 1400 mAh
Where Lightning beats NX1 hands down is WiFi - this one has b/g/n, NX1 only b/g, and screen - 4.1in is definitely nice (though I think it's same screen resolution as NX1).
But neither of these scream "OMG those are amazing specs".
Again, not saying these aren't nice specs but people here are "jumping for joy" as if this thing is some sort of a revelation, but most of these are fast becoming standard these days. So again, I don't understand all the noise.
I call BS on the "leaks out" part.
It's just viral marketing to get ppl excited.
First Apple, now Dell. Everyone wants a piece of pie.
