Wi-Fi Sync: wirelessly sync the iPhone with iTunes... in your dreams (video)
Hey iPhone, welcome to 2007. Following Opera's script in building grassroots hysteria to goad Apple into approving a contentious app, developer Greg Hughes is teasing a video of his Wi-Fi Sync app to the peoples of planet internet. As the name implies, the app promises a complete sync of your iPhone or iPod touch with iTunes without having to tether and looks pretty straightforward (and occasionally useful) based on the video demonstration found after the break. Greg says he'll be submitting it to Apple for approval at the end of the week -- good luck with that Greg, we hope to be seeing you on Cydia at the very least.

sorry i couldn't resist: "Welcome to the social - wireless sync since 2007"
ZUNE
Not that useful for me for iPhone as I can charge and sync at once, but my iPad that won't charge via my computer? Would be priceless.
That said, depending on the implementation this likely breaks the security model and so will be rejected on that basis alone. Apple really should implement this directly in the OS.
@Dmangus
I hadn't even thought of this! Not quite a killer app, but close....
It's kind of sad, because the Zune I just bought that came out two and a half years ago can sync to my PC through my Wi-Fi network.
It would be too slow...
Then came iPhone with wireless N!!!
Wait, you need an app for that? No wonder there are so many apps for the iPod Touch and iPhone, every feature that is included on a Zune is turned into an app...
I kid, I kid.
I barely ever use the wireless sync on my Zune, a bit too slow for me. But can be useful if I'm just adding an album before I go to bed.
It'd be nice to sync contacts, appts, notes wirelessly, automatically. But Mobile Me does that, doesn't it?
BUYER BEWARE - Do NOT expect ANY support from Greg Hughes if you encounter any problems with his Wi-Fi Sync software. I purchased the Windows version of Greg’s Wi-Fi Sync software and attempted to install on several PC’s with the same results “application failed to start”. I submitted a friendly trouble ticket on Greg’s support site over a month ago and Greg has made NO attempt to respond. A second trouble ticket also went unanswered as did a request for a refund. PayPal will only assist if the software was purchased via EBay, not Cydia. Jay Freeman of Cydia also didn’t respond to my email requesting assistance. BUYER BEWARE!
