Canon brings out Jackie Chan-branded Rebel T2i / 550D for Chinese market
"Eye of Dragon" must be Chinese for "better kit lens, fancier neck strap, a branded photo album, and a leather case." Because that's the totality of substantive changes you'll be getting if you opt for the upgraded Jackie Chan variety of Canon's Rebel T2i. Of course, there's also the knowledge that you'll be one of only 2,010 owners of this exclusive kit, which will set buyers back an unenviable 10,000 Yuan ($1,467). If you ask us, we'd rather just buy the body and add on the EF-S 18-135mm lens ourselves, but then we were always more partial to Bruce Lee anyway.

So it's not tougher?
that's better than 30 megapixel!
Forget the 1Ds Mk IV.
This is the new Canon hotness.
When you press the capture button your subjects get kicked to the ground.
Finally a Jackie Chan branded camera! Just what i've been looking for!
@ChairmanMeow He also does hair products.
But I have no idea what crowd Canon is targeting with this, at least not the cool and trendy crowd...
@YpoCaramel
Probably part of the Shanghai Expo 2010, where Jackie is (one of?) the promoters.
@ChairmanMeow Certainly doesn't help the old "Asians with cameras" stereotype.
So I can be a clown now?
I love how the Chinese hate being associated with Jackie Chan, and yet as soon as China is mentioned there is a picture of him in the background...
I want CHUCK NORRIS NIKON!! :D with hiden punch function ;]]
@MoonrakerD I WANT JOHN CASEY CAMERAS!
@MoonrakerD
That would be against fair competition, because once you make a Chuck Norris camera, every camera before and thereafter will become utterly obsolete.
After seeing jason chen's canon rebel xt seized by san mateo police this picture is quite funny
It's kinda sad they have to get actors to endorse stuff like that .. like Ashton what-is-name endorsed Nikon cameras .. what do they know about cameras or photography? I don't disagree with the practice of celebrity endorsement .. I blame the people who go out and by stuff on celebrity endorsement rather than expert advice.
@JS
Both of them are directors (more so Jackie). So I think they'd know a tiny bit about photography.
Now if it were Martin Yan, I'd buy it.
I'll see your Jackie Chan and raise you two Kimura Takuyas...
I am sure the camera "kicks a**"
Just like his movies, anything with Jackie Chan involved is gold.
@Really Really
Well if you consider his movies in the past 6 years or so... that makes the Rebel the Camera for Has Beens.
Now, release the Hassellhoff camera already.
Funny... "Eye of dragon" is also the name of a fruit commonly found in China: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longan
@Richard Lai Lychees are better :p Juicier, plumper, burst at the seems with juice, especially early summer.
@YpoCaramel The two go well together -- longans can sooth the lychees' "heat."
The real draw here is the camera does all of its own stunts.
Go Jackie!
damn you all. This is the epitomy of pimp status.
Jackie chan is da man and this is friggen awesome. too bad I cant buy one over here or I would
At firs a
@Entropic Decay
haha fail
At first glance, i thought that was actually JAckie Chan taking a photo of his branded camera
Long zoom ranges are not really great, you know.
Ok I love Jackie Chan but come on this is a little much!
China eh? Get ready for the Cannon Commie T2i / 550D, Chow Yun Fat version
Sounds like it's time for "It's Not Jackie Chan!"
