Steam for Mac opens a portal to May 12, steps through
Valve promised that Steam on Mac would arrive in April. As you're no doubt aware, April is nearly over. Does that make Steam... vaporware? Not quite. Put away the Caruso sunglasses for two more weeks, because our friends at Joystiq just received a one-line email reading: "Valve today announced the public release of Steam for the Mac is May 12. Please stay tuned for more information." Oh well -- at least you're not waiting for Steam on Linux, and you can always stock up on Razer peripherals while you endure the delay.

Will there be any support for controlers besides the keyboard an mouse?
@Adambadam
No but they'll let you use more than one mouse button, be grateful.
@Bratyr not if you are using magic mouse...
Triple finger side swipe for mouse button 3 etc lol
I've been waiting for a beta invite, which was apparently coming out in april. Dammit, ohwell.
I guess Adobe wasn't the only one needing access to those GPUs
Wow, nice illustration. XD
Apple sues Valve in ... 3... 2... 1
Looks like it's time to introduce Mac users to Valve time.

@Dew
Heh heh, I was just about to post that.
Kinda funny to watch Valve waste thousands of dollars to do something that hardly any of the Mac community really cares about. Perhaps, seeing this fail will show that making something for 5% of 5% of the market is worthless.
@Sable Drakon The motivation for Valve here seems to lay in the assumption that Apple's consumer base froths at the mouth and pays through the nose for every and anything related to Apple.
Portal 2 FTW
Grats Macs. That's 8 more game to to compatibility list :) or is it 10, I dunno
Letting the Mac community have access to Valve is like putting a palm tree in Alaska it will last maybe a day or two then die off. Can't wait to catch one game playing CSS, TF2, L4D2, BBC2 with their magic mouse and wireless keyboard hahahaha
we dont get to vote?
I read razer peripherals and immediately imagined people cutting themselves because they have to wait longer for Steam on Mac.
I think the TF2 sentry and the Portal turret are the perfect analogy for Pc vs Mac.
The TF2 turret is cheaper, more upgradable and more stable. But some Asshole can install a sapper on it and ruin the whole thing.
The portal turret never gets sapped, but its way over priced, not upgradable... And umm.... Top heavy.... Because macs are top heavy....
I don't know this analogy sounded better in my head.
Hmmm this seems familiar. HTC with the Hero update ring a bell. But it will boost Macs chances a bit with the argument of not being a gaming rig.
"at least you're not waiting for Steam on Linux"
-- I am :(
so uhhhh where is it????
