Adobe CTO says Flash 10.1 for Android in June -- will Froyo follow suit?
Let's take a break from Apple and Adobe's back-and-forth, shall we? Instead, we'll let the latter company talk about its work with Google, specifically the Android platform. Flash-based CTO Kevin Lynch said today in a post, "We look forward to delivering Flash Player 10.1 for Android smartphones as a public preview at Google I/O in May, and then a general release in June." Good news, indeed, but with all this talk of Froyo having native Flash support, and this month's conference serving as the largest gathering of Android developers, we can't imagine a better platform (pun intended) for Andy Rubin and company to unveil its fragmentation-curbing Froyo update. Might Flash 10.1's May preview / June release schedule line up with the OS, as well? Just some fat-free food for thought.

Sadly, Netflick uses Silverlight. But I doubt that Android will say no to Silverlight. Now if we can bug developer about it then it might come true :)
The main complaint I see is about battery life. My moment will last me 12hrs if I don't use it much and with heavy using it last about 4-5hrs. People need to remember that our phones today are as powerful or more then desktops from 10yrs ago!
On top of that most people want their phones to be slimer with bigger screens and more powerful and be able to do the same things that their home computer does and then last all day while doing all the above!
Sorry guys our phones don't run on pixie dust and unicorn farts as some would believe. There are going to be compromises. As it stands I don't mind flash but I don't think my phone could handle it very good though. The key word is "optimization" of the hardware. Which less face it is hard to do from one device to another. Unless you have a spec series of phones ex: iphone, windows phone 7.
And let's not forget that we have all these different programs like flash, silverlight, quicktime and a few others; and the new ones around the corner that people all now and talk about like html5 for example.
I hope they do pull flash off and that it will work very well, but I have my doubts. So good luck google and adobe and ill keep my fingers cross!
FLASH: Goodnight sweet prince
iDont have flash
Still waiting on *any* stable release of 10.1 Adobe... Release it "as stable" for *main stream* deployment already or shut up about 10.1. We've heard enough about what you're gonna do.
Haters gonna hate. The only Apple fanboy position on Flash support on Android mobiles I've observed is pretentious regurgitation of Steve's position which wasn't very convincing in the first place. That or snobby gloating about the impending failure of Android because of Flash because Apple mobiles will never get the choice. Sour grapes. I'm cautiously excited for Flash support because I prefer choice than cozying next to the words of a deified CEO making my choice for me.
