Yeah, if you look at it like that, my point was that people will pay $600 for an Ipad because it performs, but only $300 for an under-powered semi-useless cumbersome netbook.
I live on the planet where I've bought 4 netbooks in the last 3 years thinking they would be worth having. These were either put on ebay or passed to family members within a few months

I guess the point is that netbooks satisfy consumer demand while tablets do not. No other company could get away with charging the premium that Apple is for a tablet. The market for tablets is not really more profitable than netbooks unless you market the technology as a fashion accessory through an identity brand.
The fact of the matter is that if Apple marketed an iPhone OS based netbook it would sell way more and be even more profitable than the iPad is for them. People prefer the netbook form factor to the tablet, so the tablet form factor is significantly holding back Apple's sales volume.
