@Ops Its not that they are afraid, its that they know iPhone OS 4.0 and the new iPhone is due to hit very soon and they dont want to give Apple any chance to close the holes they are using to get into the current 3.x software.
@jonwil and there will be iphone 4.1 and so on.
if apple hasnt plugged the holes they arent..
excuses don't butter the toast
@Ops I think you guys are missing the point. 4.0 is a significant upgrade. The 4.1.blahblah upgrades are not. If I had an iPad, I would definitely want to upgrade to 4.0., but I would be perfectly happy not to download a 4.1 upgrade that offered very little added usability, and mostly only patched the hole that these guys are using (which is all most Apple iPhone upgrades do, let's be honest. Sometimes they add a few features, but most are not significant by any measure. Mostly, they just "break" the jailbreaks).
If they release it now, I wouldn't be able to have both a jailbroken device and 4.0 for some time. If they wait, I can have both very close to the instant 4.0 is out.
Once in a lifetime... you may ask yourself... was there anything as over-hyped and as under delivered. Big suit... now that was magical
Too much mountain vista and not enough stuff on that screen.
@hated one
No offense but since you are very notorious for trolling I find it hard to believe you.
@hated one Are you referring to the Apple Store in the Fashion Square Mall getting more in tomorrow morning?
I always thought this song sounded like it was being sung by Robin Williams.
The "Spirit" Jailbreak by comex, twitter via @comex, will be out at the most in like 3 days, they have multiple exploits, this is just one of them, and it will be released way before os 4
dang it they took my porn status down :(
Talking Heads for the win! Quite the clever post format.
Words cannot describe how much I love this article's text and title. If you listen to the Talking Heads, you'll get it.
Imagine that? An iPhad device requiring a jailbreak to be USEFUL. Then there is always Android.
@Darkseider .. No there isn't. Where can I buy a shipping, decent Android tablet ?
Can't wait to see Android on this!
Geohot is the new Ziphone. He won't release anything.
Everyone who says to wait for the release has no idea what they are talking about. Apple will always make a patch for every jailbreak so there is no point in waiting. If these guys are going to talk the talk they need to walk the walk. If they are going to wait they might as well wait a few years for apple to release 6.0 because they are going to patch 4.0 and if they wait long enough apple won't patch them. Do you thin virus makers wait to release viruses because microssoft is going to come out with another security update?
@mrteeth I think the point is that people will want to upgrade to 4.0, because it has several attractive upgrades. If they wait and release the jailbreak, people can upgrade to 4.0 and jailbreak right at the release. If they release it now, if you want a jailbroken 4.0 device, you have to wait for them to find a new hole.
Why not wait a little bit now and have jailbroken 4.0 and all it's features on your device instead of waiting possibly months (look how long it's taken to jailbreak the latest patch) to be able to upgrade to 4.
Sorry to multi post but for all you people who are saying to wait till 4.0 then that means we need to wait till sept or oct when the ipad 4.0 comes out.
I'm tellin' you man. Apples OS is already great but when you add the power of jailbreain' it makes the OS that much more amazing. I honestly can't wait to have the new iPhone 4thG, iPhone OS 4.0, & the new Jailbreak, I will be one happy camper.
I wonder if jailbreaking the iPad makes it unbearably slow, like it does to the iPhone. I hadn't jailbroken my phone in a long time, but did it to test out the mywi app. Immediately after jailbreaking, before installing mywi, the phone was noticeably slower and the keyboard practically useless in any application. I'm still on a 3G phone, though, not 3GS.
@moracity
I'm on a jailbroken 3g right now and it's no different than before I jailbroke it. Jailbreaking doesn't inherently make devices slower. There must be something wrong with you're 3g :-(
my god, what have I done?
Yay, another jailbreak that isn't available to the public yet....let's get on with this people, you don't get bragging rights till there is a download available.
Cool illustration.
lolz for the music video LOL
Now, if we could just teach tech vlogers some basic camera work/production values these videos would be so much more watchable.
