It's bigger, it's bolder, but is it really that much better? Nintendo's heralded
DSi line grew in more ways than one late last month, and now that you've had a handful of weekends to toy with yours, it's time to answer one majorly important question: how would you change it? We found in our
review that the
DSi XL was a solid option for those without a DSi of any kind, but we didn't feel that it was worth the $190 if you were just upgrading. For those that bought in, do you find yourself agreeing? Is the new size something you're into? Would you have made it a touch larger / smaller? Is the screen up to snuff? Do you think Nintendo went far enough with the advancements? Open up in comments below -- just keep it clean, okay? Your kids are probably reading.
Edge-to-edge multi-touch screen, and change the name to Courier :P
Hi !
The 3DS will need to have 7" multitouches resistive and thermique screens.
3DS will need to have an 1Ghz processor or more.
It will need 2 cameras (2.3 and 6)
It will need a bigger store, with videos and films, music and apps.
3DS will need a complete nds web browser with flash and html5 !
Ok.
Price : 299$
Good idea, no ?
Well I kinda thought we needed it but according to Steve jobs we need to get rid of the stylus. "if you see a stylus, they blew it."
@R Skicking
make it a capacitive stylus, and some people do need styluses because their marker size fingers can't quite hit the dot...
@R Skicking if it has a task manager they blew it, oh wait a minute OS 4 has one
@R Skicking Lol, Steve Jobs blew a stylus
Bring back the GBA slot
make it smaller
Bigger face buttons and a D-Pad to match. It's frankly silly as is.
Don't announce days before its release that you plan on releasing a 3d ds.
1. Add MP3 playback. Only supporting AAC is stupid.
2. Add MP4 video playback.
3. Make it read JPEGs created by other software, so I can take photos I already have and put them on the DSi.
4. Make the clock actually work as an alarm clock without having to leave the console switched on the whole time.
Other than that, I've been really enjoying mine. The bigger screens make GTA Chinatown Wars enjoyable.
I would give it games that people actually want to play and stop trying to make up for the fact that its missing them by making the screens bigger.
I'd give it to me for free!!! :P
Re-add the GBA slot!!
I'm ready to upgrade from my original DS to the DSiXL, but my DS has a GBA slot. I want that slot!!
Better colors would be nice. I'm not going to upgrade to this unless the colors stop looking like barf. With the two only choices we have, it's like Nintendo really doesn't want to sell them.
My realistic suggestion is fix the damn backlight bleeding. I have gone through 2 of them (returned them) and they both had backlight bleeding. Its annoying paying $190 for it and it having stupid problems.
Upping the resolution is nice, but I dont see the pixelation issues everyone whines about.
Lastly, make the cases cheaper!! Had to spend $20 to get a decent case for it.
make it as big as my head! HUGE!!!! with 16 foldable screens and 40hr battery life at least!
So outdated now.
Thinner, Smaller.
Make it backwards compatible. I still have a huge amount of bg,gba games. Would be cool to play on a bigger portable screen
make it 3D. oh wait, they will be. Why would anyone buy this knowing that Nintendo will be releasing the same thing w/ a 3D screen soon?
I would like more compatibility and us with the Wii though -
I do like a lot of what Extinction said up above.
@enseigner Might not be the same thing. Probably won't have larger screen and might not be compatible with DSiware. Lets see how "Great" the 3DS is before we start talking smack.
call it the Gamboy iXL
Make it run Crysis.
at least twice the pixel density, also make it thinner. Maybe add an accelerometer.
