ABC Player for iPad updated, 3G streaming is a go

Well that was fast. That ABC Player for iPad update we heard about this morning has already made its way through Apple's approval process and is now available for download. Orientation lock is now, erm, on lock controls are more responsive, but most importantly, (lower bitrate) 3G streaming is now a go. With that settled, now no bus ride will ever get between you and an island chockfull of confusion and smoke monsters.

Since the iPad is, in theory at least, turning up on a few other shores in the next month has there eben any word f similar apps from BBC or Sky or anyone?

Support for orientation lock should be system-wide, not per application.

Thank god this app has been updated, now the world may go back to spinning around. In other news, 50,000 other apps across 4 mobile platforms also received updates yesterday.

Has anyone found any video apps that even come close to this one? All the networks should've followed their lead by now... The HD eps are just beautiful on the iPad (even though the interspersed commercials are 180p or something).

I need more apps like the ABC Player, and Netflix to justify my purchase of the Pad.
