you know those "I'm a Mac" and "I'm a PC" commercials? well it looks like Steve was overcompensating in those ads for trying to be the cool awesome guy everyone likes, because in real life it looks like Mr Gates - The PC guy - is the cool calm and collected guy and it's Steve - The Mac - Jobs who needs to get over himself! Not a good look Steve - very poor form. Why can't you take a joke? Seriously... grow up. You make fun of PCs all the time in your ad. Your own medicine doesn't taste so good?

Meh. Apple's kinda like AOL for hipsters. Overpriced while trying to offer a more "friendly and easy" experience. Glad to see them being given a bit of grief lately.
If I had Flash on my iPhone I could have watched it on Engadget's site. Instead I had to find the mobile version of the video. Poor Apple cannot take a joke. Ellen should have never kissed Apple's ass at the end. Did "Mad Tv" apologize for this

this fake ad made fun of people that don't know how to use a smartphone more than it made fun of apple. I think Steve Jobs' turtle neck is too tight.

Forget learning how to "take a joke" Apple needs to learn how to recognize a joke. The spoof is more about Ellen making fun of herself for not understanding how to use an iPhone.
Probably wasn't Jobs or anybody that high, probably a marketing rep for Apple that handles daytime talk.
She had to apologize? What she should have said was "I'm sorry that Steve Jobs and Apple all have a stick up their arses". Seriously. This is out of control.
iWish AAPL would chill out and not worry about monitoring the content of the rest of the world.
They could iGnore the world's content, and the world could iGnore AAPL's, and lots of folks might be a little less tense.

What sucks is that I can't watch the video on my iPhone, but what she probably said was true. Apples digging their own grave, slowly but it's happening.
Actually the one who needs to be able to take a joke seems to be y'all, since the overwhelming opinion seems to be that Apple sent jack-booted thugs to Ellen's house to force her to apologize. Ellen's a comedian, and she's going to use every tool in her bag to make a funny. I thought it was hilarious, and that Apple would ask her to apologize even more funny. How many Apple parodies have we seen with no jack-booted thugs asking for apologies? Think people. Don't go gently into the night.

I'm sure it wasn't Ellen who caved, I'm sure it was the production company who fielded those calls from apple who forced her to apologize. These huge media companies that own these tv shows and networks don't care about ethics, they only care about dollars. I'm sure Apple phones them and told them either issue an apology or face the financial consequences - hence, an apology was made.
Tell me again why so many in the tech community worships apple again? it seems over and over and over again that Apple shows they are a joke, yet there is no shortage of people ready to defend them?

I'm sure if Apple "called" at all it was to say basically "if you make fun of our product, we will not advertise on your show".
That does not seem all that unreasonable. Why should they pay her to make their products look bad?
I find it disturbing that the crowd felt it necessary to break out into applause when she said she likes her iPad. Really? We should care that much? This whole "Apple is hip" thing needs to be questioned.

The studio flashed the "applause" signs wildly when she started to mention fruit products.
I think both parties involved are pathetic. Just makes me despise the company even more. I walked away from Apple years ago. Thought about buying a Mac again last year, but just couldn't justify the price and the gestapo tactics of the devices.
