Update: And... it's been pulled. Good thing we just restored our phone. We'll let you know if and when it comes back.
Update 2: Turns out you can still access the firmware with a little creative URL hackery -- but you've still got to be an iPhone dev program member, naturally. Thanks, Brian!
Update 3: Reports are coming in that it's back and available without any trickery!

@chanceusc Why would you do that when you can easily get $100 - $400 (depending on the model and condition) on Ebay. They sell like hotcakes ... If WM7 is what you want, you could get it for practically free by selling your iPhone.

Reaaaalllllyy... I may throw my first gen which was cracked screen (against the black, not interfering with the display) on ebay then. I thought it was basically worthless.

WP7 is the dumbest smartphone OS since iPhone 1.0. It is so lacking in features it's practically a feature phone OS... All it has is a nice UI and it somehow spawned millions of fanboys. Congrats, you've fallen victim to Microsoft's marketing.

1. Its not even finished yet so how about passing judgement when all of the actual features are in place.

Well actually, I think you both have a point. WP7 isn't out yet so things can still change for the better, but right now, looking at the facts, WP7 looks like it will be a lot like iPhone OS 1. They took a lot of the stuff people hate about the iPhone, then removed a lot of the stuff people love about the iPhone, then launched a pretty succesful PR campaign with lots of pretty pictures, and now people are getting all hyped up about something that looks like its going to be 3 years behind the curve. I know *I* wasn't impressed by the iPhone *at all* until they hit iPhone OS 3 with the 3g, and when MS releases WP7 Apple will be at the 4th gen already. It's funny how much hate Apple gets over here, while people are all over WP7. If you put them side-by-side, iPhone OS wins on almost everything already, and WP7 isn't even out yet :-S

There is probably a new EULA that requires all apps be written ONLY in objective C. This way Adobe no longer has to be felt singled out and they can avoid the FTC/DOJ investigation.

Jailbreak using Spiritjb and then install backgrounder = multi-tasking!
Couple it with proswitcher, and you'll get Palm Pre style card multitasking.

Even though I own apple products I'm getting tired of hearing about them also. But then again there the only ones that actually doing anything that's buzzworthy. Whether it flash, new products or etc.
I'm holding out for OS 5. It supposedly looks like LCARS.

Same here, hopefully OS 5 will finally be as good as Android in features, but better executed via the Apple way and has a revamped appstore like the Palm App Catalog and tether 4G like with WP7S.

I need some new iPhone 4G rumors Engadget..I need to know for sure if the screen is going to be larger or smaller...
Otherwise I'm gonna stick with the 3GS I'm thinking...
@TheLondonExchange Screen is just a few mm smaller, but that's probably coz the screen is gonna be a bit wider to better fit the new resolution, i guess the size will be less than 1% smaller/bigger.

Can't wait for the keynote: "and we have doubled the pixel density! (while making the screen smaller)" just like they made the iPhone 3g have "thinner" edges (but fatter body). Love the spin!
@lmwong I kind of agree with you on the whole double pixel density smaller / same size screen. It almost defeats the purpose. The only thing that a higher density would do on a similar sized screen is clear up fonts for somewhat easier reading when not zoomed in all the way. Otherwise there will be very few noticeable differences.
