Google Chrome: faster than a flying potato

Google's never been shy to make claims that Chrome is the fastest browser on the planet, but it's truly pulled out all the stops to drive that point home for its latest beta. Rather than rely on some simple benchmarks, Google decided to test Chome against some other things that are fast -- namely, a potato cannon, sound waves, and lightning. We won't spoil all the surprise for you, but you can rest assured that Chrome comes out looking pretty good, and that everything else gets a little messy. Awesome commercial! But I've never seen anything faster than Opera 10.
(Though I use Firefox. For the addons/customization)

This is fantastic. Chrome really is great...sometimes has hiccups, but the speed is worth it.
I love Chrome

I just thought it was the typical browser advertising about speed but after it updated to 5.... ummm, damn!
For those saying that Firefox has better ad-blockers...why not just block Flash? After that, loading ads are no longer a security risk, and they are not annoying. I mean, you go to a free website, might as well load something you won't look at either way to help earn the website money.
I guess I just don't understand how hard it is not to click on text-ads when they come up. I don't read them either way, so I'm confused why people block them, potentially stealing content from providers who won't get revenue.

i went to go download this latest version only to find out im already using it?
I won't trust google chrome as my primary browser. However, it runs some things better than Firefox. Citrix doesn't always launch correctly with firefox. Never a problem with chrome. Strangely enough, I am not able to connect to google voice through firefox today. No problem with chrome. Slacker radio runs better in chrome as well.
Those are the only 3 things I use chrome for, and only at work.

Its A FAKE! Turn On 720p / HD and freeze at 0:48 the browser says 'file:///C:/Users/Kevin/Desktop' google cheated by downloading a file not the actual webpage
Given that Google admitted to being sleazy in faking the Chrome speed test with local pages instead of via the stated "15Mbps internet connection"...Donald, are you going to update this article, or do we give Google a pass?

Btw, why not check out the fastest browser that doesn't put up fake videos, OPERA, and beats the general-release Chrome & Safari using public speed tests that everyone can try for themselves...? ;)
