Grace Digital Audio announces Solo WiFi internet radio tuner
Interested in a WiFi internet radio but already have a perfectly good stereo? Then you're just the sort of person that Grace Digital Audio is after with its new Solo WiFi internet radio tuner, which simply turns any stereo (or set of speakers, for that matter) into an internet radio. Apart from the lack of speakers, the device is fairly similar to Grace's recently announced Allegro WiFi radio, with it packing the same support for services like Pandora and Sirius internet radio, the same backlit LCD display, and the same support for Grace's remote app for the iPhone / iPod touch (plus a standard remote, of course). Sold? Then you can snag this one directly from Grace right now for $124.99, or look for it to hit Best Buy, Sears and other retailers in July.

Wow for a moment I read "ORACLE" in that radio...
no
For that price I would expect a little more functionality. Throw in an HD Radio and I'm in.
@ArhcAngel
+1
I'm also digging the design.
@ArhcAngel
You can get Chumby One. Aside from a very good internet radio, it can do a lot more duties.
@pretol I beg to differ. The Chumby is THE WORST internet radio made. This is a true internet radio, allowing access to any of 11,000 on-line stations. The Chumby cripples there's and only offers access to a few hand-picked stations. Anyone who compares the Chumby favorably to a true stand-alone wifi internet radio is simply naive.
Brick-and-mortar stores never (or almost never) sell these. They're nearly always only available on their websites. It's like they completely ignore this genre of device.
For that price, I'd recommend the VTech IS9181 instead.
@ArhcAngel HD radio stations already stream via the Internet, so you can more than likely get all your HD stations, plus a heck of a lot more.
There seems to be a serious lack of education about these stand-alone internet radios and what you can do with them. If not, they'd be vastly more popular.
@darex
But some of us WANT Pandora, Sirius and Podcasts...
Of course, it'd be even better if it could stream MP3 playlists. I'm looking for something like this for my son's room so I don't have to burn frickin' CDs. Seriously, someone deliver me from the hell of having to keep making "mix tapes" for a 5 year old without spending $250+.
so they value their speaker at $45..
It is already available at my sears store, we have both models, solo wifi radio receiver is listed and on display for 99.99 at my location.
My OPPO BDP-83 already does that and much more...
@lap777
Sorry we don't really have oppo stuff in the UK, are you saying you can use it as an internet radio? That is pretty sweet if it does.
@wolfticket II
You run Asset UPnP and/or TVersity on your PC, and then you can listen/watch your audio/video files and internet radio with the OPPO. You just need the latest beta firmware. The OPPO also plays bluray, dvd-audio, sacd, etc. If it is on a shinny disc or on a network, including internet radio, it will play ;)
@wolfticket II
Or on a usb key/drive
Their logo reminds me of Oracle (the database company)
Ouch..my eyes! The font on the display looks soo '80s!
g's that look look like pack-man on a bad hair day, p's that look like emo drops, c'mon!
Please, why can't someone just get a Squeezebox so we can all go home?
I just got one of these and its works great
