Sure, Sony's new series of camcorders with interchangeable lenses might look nice and have "good specs," but are they available right now for under $100? No, but this thing is. @ChazClout Yeah.. Its like Mr Blurrycam got an upgrade..
although neat personally that whole lens curve in the image ruins any benefit the zoom may have. can any one think of a practical application for this that the user couldn't achieve by simply moving in closer to their destination?
@spaz4322 You're thinking way too logically about this product. No one with any sense of quality would purchase a VGA (640x480 -- not even DVD resolution) camcorder and assume a good lens by itself would even cost $100!

Most camcorders have 40x zoom without the crazy long tube lens.

To be clear, this camera does NOT have interchangeable lenses. It has a fixed lens, and comes with a telephoto adapter lens that you can screw on top of it.
Someone really should make a crappy camera with interchangeable lenses. It'd be awesome to take vga res video with old c-mount lenses that have mechanical apertures. It'd display the PXL2000 the new anti-quality hipster video camera!
@jamdis Man, I was thinking the same exact thing- there is a lot of fast c-mount glass for really cheap. Release this same camera sans any lens but with a c-mount for around the same price, I'd buy one for sure.
