How progressive of you.
Seriously though, I kind of wish I was a supreme Laptop Knowledge Warrior.
@mac404 Princess.
Laptop knowledge warrior princess.
Without the U-stream chat, it wouldn't have been half as good..
OMG BEST PODCAST EVER!
Still can't believe Joanna Stern actually came in
lol
Josh being so protective was just classic!
New record for the time it takes to get the podcast up, nice work trent.
Nilay saying I can't be trusted at 48:15 still hurts, I cried myself to sleep last night :'(
first time listing to engadget podcast and acctually thought i've been rickrolled for the first part lol.
Thank you thank you for the quick turn around on the podcast!
It's still not possible to download the podcast from within the iPhone's iTunes app. Can please someone fix that? It's that way for months now.
@TrueTom
+1
all my other podcasts download fine. It's just the engadget ones. Same problem on 3g and 3gs.
so, maybe i missed this, but when is the first engadget podcast IN 3-D happening? just wondering... :)
I am quite surprised how negatively you viewed the 4g extra charge for sprint.
It might be different if the total Sprint bill was the same price as AT&T or Verizon but it is significantly cheaper than both. Even with the extra charge its still a little cheaper than both which includes 4g service. (you really think verizon isn't going to do the same thing for their lte network or eventually at&t?)
Sprint is by far the best "deal" provider out there right now and the 4g tax will make it a bit more but its still by far the best "deal" for a major smartphone.
$110/month for 4G w/hotspot? Any reason I should even have a cable modem if I've got 4G reception? (no, I don't torrent and my computers are off when I'm not at home)... Hrm...
In regards to Joshua's hate for resistive touch screens, I just have two things to say. 1: Accuracy. And 2: Usable when cold.
I'm currently on an HTC Tattoo (great little phone btw!) and can't imagine using it with a capacitive screen... There is just no way the keyboard would work as well! Well maybe, but it would have to be a lot more accurate than the current capacitive offerings which would also up the price considerably...
Glad the regulars are back.
This is difficult to write without sounding like the average comments troll but last week Michael Gartenberg made the podcast near unlistenable.
He kept interrupting. To make a point he'd just repeat himself instead of elaborating. He contradicted himself and then made it sound like he was right all along. He would make a comment and then laugh at his "joke" when it was nothing close to funny.
It was tough and the boys did a great job of tolerating/surviving.
Again, I know the comments sections tend to fill with negativity and I regularly try to fight that but I beg of you not to invite him back.
@Pingles
Forgot to add: Was he on a speakerphone? It kept picking up the other people he was interrupting.
Really? You're going to Rick Roll your listeners like that? I thought we've gotten past that dark era of the internet.
How can you be impressed by a "4G" device that only downloads at 4Mbits and uploads at 1Mbit. My SE X10 easily gets the same speeds on 3G+ networks. The Wimax thing is not the reason to buy the EVO, the hdmi, front facing camera and screen size is.
I love how you always invite comments but you never actually discuss anything people bring up or topics peple suggest. In fact I think the only reason you ask for comments is so you can make snarky and sarcastic comments.
Tea-Mobile party. Wicked.
I feel like I'm being Rick-Rolled by the intro.
