Motorola Ruth / Flipout leaks again, due in June?
We're still not quite sure to make of this odd little square of a Motorola, but it certainly looks like it's coming our way soon: Italian site Zumo says the Ruth (or Flipout, as we've seen it called) is actually the Moto MB511, and it's due out sometime in June. We're also told that it'll have WiFi, GPS, and a memory card slot, but that's pretty par for the course -- what we're really curious about it how this thing actually works in person. We'll just have to wait and find out.

another crappy Motorola phone, nice moto. keep it up!
@theinternetstom
I hate Engadget?
Because all of their articles?
Are a question?
And its annoying to read?
Because they always sound so insecure?
@Technologeee Then why are you are you on Engadget AND posting a comment? (that's a real question)
@Technologeee Then why are you on Engadget AND posting a comment? (that's a real question)
@theinternetstom
Moto is back o its old ways.
@Technologeee = troll
@Technologeee When did the Internetstorm type all those question? You moron.......
Flipout??? Sounds like a very angry phone.... eh?????
@watswrongwiththesecompanies FLIPOUT??!?!?!?!?!?!?!
@watswrongwiththesecompanies
You're gonna FLIPOUT when you find out what a useless piece of crap you bought! LOL
@watswrongwiththesecompanies
Well I'm actually holding out for the future Motorola IncandescentRAGE
AT&T's giving Ruth the creepy eye from across the room. Protect your firmware, girl.
@N900 Not even the Ruth can escape the wRath of AT&T....
@watswrongwiththesecompanies yahoo search for everybody!
@theinternetstom "yahoo search for everybody!" Well... AT&T doesn't even have the decency to use protection while raping the moto phones... First the back flip and now, the Ruth has to take care of the abomination born out of it called Yahoo search.....
Damn!!!! my imagination's running pretty wierd today... def need a brk.
Why is money wasted on these phones when it should be put into new inventions! I wonder if a cure for cancer could have been invented with the money saved and donated through not making this phone
@painfull2006
What if you never commented on this article and just researched into a cure for cancer and found it?
What if all companies stopped making things and just spent money on a cure for cancer? I bet their employees would be happy knowing that the company has negative income every quarter. Be realistic. The cure for cancer is something everyone supports but maybe you should rethink your strategy.
@painfull2006 Very valid point. But the employees at Motorola need to get paid every month too. You know.
@watswrongwiththesecompanies
It would go like this -
Motorola Exec - Ok guys, we have big competition in the smartphone area, I need you all to blue-sky innovate some new mobile environment concepts.
Motorola Designers - no problem boss.
-2 weeks later-
Motorola Exec - OK guys, time's up - show me your designs - Where's your design Jim?
Designer Jim - Actually I didn't do one, I decided it would be a better investment of my time to research a cure for cancer, despite having no experience in that field. Turns out it's tougher than designing a phone.
Motorola Exec - That is a noble and just cause, and I heartily endorse your actions.
Sweet!
Another crippled android phone not to buy. Go back to your roots of the "Milestone" Motorala!
definitely a chick phone. looks very large, ie pursable.
@artshark
It's a 2.8inch square screen...which means, with an approximation of the bezel in mind...it's 2 inch X 3 inch give or take 1/4 of an inch...
Pretty small...
GUYS WE MADE ONE GREAT PHONE LETS JUST MAKE CRAP FOR THE NEXT COUPLE YEARS
@Broderbund Thats what Motorola's business strategy is. Remember the RAZR?
@watswrongwiththesecompanies I don't remember them making one great phone when they had the Razr. Hell they didn't even have one decent one then.
I could see this being a hit with the 16-25 female crowd. Smells like an AT&T phone!
It's not Italian, it's Brazilian. It's written in Portuguese. (For the ignorant: Brazil speaks portuguese).
Ugh, what an unattractive name
@xler8r Its what inside that counts............. And there's not much in there either. :)
The site (Zumo) is not italian, its from Brazil.
@joaopcc What's an Engadget article without a mistake or two?
@joaopcc Yep, Zumo is Brazilian and the ad also
Worse name since the Pixi. At least the Pixi is a decent phone.
ugly design + ugly motoblur = eww
As Andrew Card once said, "From a marketing point of view, you don't introduce new products in June. That's Apple's month."
>Motorola: Flip the fuck out_
Maybe this time they'll actually have a decent keyboard with some nice tactile feedback and not some flat slab of "keys" that feel more like you're using a resistive touchscreen than a keyboard.
As far as I know, .br is not Italy.
Moto is the new Nokia, bringing out ugly looking underpowered phones.
@anotherworld Sorry, but Nokia has never made anything as awful as Motorola. Nokia is big on design, and well known for it too!
American companies, products and consumers are well known for *lack* of taste. Apple is an exception.
Even the latest phones from Motorola are horrible, yet Americans buy them. I wonder how they're doing in Europe. I certainly wouldn't buy a Motorola if I can have a similar HTC.
I just wanna know why when I browse facebook mobile on my Nexus One, at the bottom it says "Download Facebook Mobile for your Ruth"...? I always wondered WTF a "Ruth" was...
@ngsm13
ya, why does it say that when the Ruth isnt even confirmed?
