Given Microsoft's Generation Upload marketing and Verizon's exclusive Gossip Girl placement deal, it's not surprising a Kin phone made an appearance on the show's season finale, but we're having a hard time believing that even Nate Archibald is chump enough to trade in his heat-seeking Droid for a Kin Two. Not that we'd know, since we don't watch the show. At all. Ever. Video after the break.

I personally have no use for this phone but im sure people will buy and love it... like the sidekick, which im assuming this is the fruit of the Danger purchase oh so long ago?

This phone would be awesome if they made a unique data plan for it at around the 15-20 dollar mark.
@benbuch1368 Awesome is a bit of a stretch. Saving 240 over 2 years wouldn't make this go completely from "waste of money" to "awesome". Overblowing my opinion on the matter a bit, but it's useful to be hyperbolic.

@IshimaruKenta Gossip Girl is also a blog site where the upper class kids of Manhattan send their gossip to. That's why the show's called Gossip Girl and why it's on the phone.

Gossip Girl and Kin. I think one is a TV show... not sure. The other is a feature phone. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I can safely ignore both of these.

I tried this phone out for the first time today, and man I hated it. I expected it to be bad, but wow, it was so slow and difficult to use. I'd never buy one, I hope it's not a bad sign for winphone7, because I am really looking forward to that.

Microsoft owned Smallville - showing of all Windows based PC's & Phones in every episode, now they lay their hands on Gossip girl... Apple you can give a shot at True Blood ;-)

God forbid a company try anything different than release a device with an incrementally larger screen & a faster processor than the previous device du jour you are comparing it to, seems like months ago you guys were warning how tired it was branding a phone as an "iphone killer" and now someone releases some thing that ISN'T aimed at the iphone and you act like it's heresy and anyone who is interested in it is a dumbass. quit insulting your readers.

Engadget just does not get it when it comes to the KIN.
I've seen it in action. Their review was waaaay to negative. The software is cool, the spot is cool, the studio is awesome, having a great media player is a step up for most phones in that $50 - $100 price range.
The only con is the data plan @ $30. But having seen that all of Verizon's feature phones which have unlimited data are also charged $30 a month, thats more a verizon thing. And if a customer were buy a $20 feature phone with a $30 data plan at verizon, I'm sure they would rather have a KIN ONE for $50 instead, with the same data plan. KIN will continue to get better and will be really great once it has IM and apps.
Finally, why do people keep groaning about a calendar. As a teen, I never used a calendar app. Didn't try to start using one until senior year of college, and only really truly used one frequently once I got a job after graduation. Teens and college students really don't care about a calendar...trust me.
Nilay *LOVES* Gossip girls. I think he is paid by G.G. to pimp the show. I think their check must be bigger then Apple's.

The GG season finale sucked, it was ridiculous and over the top. Georgina appearing out of nowhere and approaching Chuck en Blair was pointless, what was that all about? I am disappoint. Anyone else agree?
