Quartet of Dell Streaks spotted in the wild in Seattle, testing for AT&T
It's not often you see four unreleased gadgets rather unceremoniously attached to a plank of wood on the sidewalk, but that's exactly what Seattle Times blogger Brier Dudley spotted: four Dell Streaks all in a row. AT&T network technicians were apparently verifying performance of the devices on the company's 3G network and also ensuring their ability to send accurate e-911 information. Among the four was a bright crimson model, but sadly the pink and orange versions we're holding out for were not present on this particular piece of timber. We should be just a few weeks away from the Streak going fully public, at which point you can hopefully find something a little more suitable to which to attach yours.

at a decent price i would love to have this thing... but not as a phone just a tablet a la the ipad.
I really wish they were doing that with the Lightning phone. C'mon lightning!
Yeah nice technical insight Engadget! All you care about is the color?
I so want the streak but on t-mobile bands ... Android on a 5" screen would be awesome.
Will it come with 2.2 then?
I don't think AT&T network is that bad.
I switched over to sprint for 3 reasons:
1. Cheaper rates
2. 4G service (when it rolls out here)
3. HTC EVO
but honestly here in southern California, my AT&T signals were more consistent and solid than my sprint or t-mobile experience. The only complaint is the price and choice of good android phones, but looks like the streak would resolve the latter issue.
Special "wink-nudge" cameo by M. Night Shyamalan.
I really don't care bout DELL. I JUST WANT A ANDROID GOOD PHONE. This sucker IS TOO BIG TO BE A PHONE AND TO MAKE CALLS. It's probably going to cost 300$ or more on 2yr contract in my opinion. Why make test? I don't see no other companies make test on their phones unless they pass through FCC. I JUST HATE DELL and their crappy DELL AERO.
@Inspector Gadget80
I love how every time an article about this device is posted, you come in and do nothing but bash it.
Why don't you keep your stupid mouth shut?
@JaysFreaky Well he is allowed express his opinions....... But ya!!! SHUT UP @Inspector Gadget80!!
@Inspector Gadget80
agreed that the aero is crap. But what's wrong with the streak besides the fact that it maybe too big to put up to your ear? They say it's to compete with the ipad, but I think it's trying to compete with all the htc androids out there. 1ghtz processor, large touchscreen, android 2.1, 5mp cam...I love htc but it would be nice to have other options with the same features.
Besides, I don't think there is anything wrong with a company testing their products before they release it to consumers.
If I can fit this thing in my hand is the deciding factor between it and the Galaxy S. Frankly I've all but eliminated the iphone as my next phone.
My 3G has been good to me but the Android platform has gotten more exciting.

AT&T's phone Selection still SUCKS!!
@Sniggih
As does the ng comment system! lol
Considering that AT&T service was down all over Seattle yesterday, I wonder when this picture was taken.
"Hey look, what's that?" *grab and run
This is going to get interesting, can't wait till June!!! With EVO launch on the 4th, Apple on 7th, and Dell "few weeks away from the Streak going fully public"
With the Evo launching before this is even officially announced, it's going to be too-little too-late for Dell.
Looks like the X10, round 2.
Outdated OS, months to release. Recipe for disaster.
@Johnny Rockets At least this will be more likely to be released in the US, while it's not the case with the X10.
