I have actually used the N8 hands-on (about 1 hour hands-on time). Trust me, in terms of browsing, multitasking (including switching between multiple apps), music even Symbian^3 is head and shoulders above whatever Android has. The Ovi Maps experience was not that great - I am not a fan of the current Ovi Maps UI. The main complaint I have is that the icons are just waaay too dated. I meant looking at the music player icon you would never realize that the underlying app is so cool to use. The UI is pretty smooth even in the early build software the phone had (but more updated than apparently what the ads on YouTube show) and the screen is just gorgeous with capacitive sensitivity rivaling that of the iPhone. Most of the annoying S60v5 messages are gone except I think 1 or 2 occasional ones (dont remember for sure). The camera is just out of this world (no kidding) - it actually works better and gives better pics than my $200.- P&S. The face tracking is pretty smart on this one and I hear it might be coming with Nokia's panorama app so you can shoot panoramas in 1 sweep.
To be honest, given a choice between the N1 and N8 (I have used both and have the N1), I would go for the N8.
Dont get fooled by the app processor Ghz numbers being bandied about - they are as useful as bandying about Megapixel numbers without knowing about the image sensor size.
@naashak I have had 5 or 6 smarts from nokia, i since moved on to iphone and there is no way back...may be to droid coz its a copy of iphone os. No symbian thx
@naashak Thanks for assuaging my concerns over this phone =). I was thinking of getting the Evo 4G, but since I'm already on a non-contract T-mobile plan, I'd rather go for the Nokia N8 since it supports Tmo 3G.
The only decision left is which color =D. Mmm, orange or green...

Nokia is losing it in a big way...give it five years and there is no nokia unless they release so brilliant hardware run by droid
@Yota
Nokias dumbphones are GOOD, I am a proud owner of 6700 but people are moving towards smartphones....
@Yota
You realize that this is not a dumbphone, right? It actually has better hardware specs than the Droid.
