:D Nothing else needed.
@R762mm
So nothing has changed. What kind of a non-story is this!
@SeeKo
I don't know which is more depressing...
That someone shelled out 500 Pound for an iPad
or
That engadget thinks this is newsworthy
@Tails2
I know the answer!! The fact that you "don't care", yet still posted an dumb ass reply anyway!!
@R762mm
BANZI!!!
Dinozambas should be stoked
Mine hasn't shipped yet, not too far from Staffordshire.
Hmm, maybe the WiFi's are shipping already but not 3G's.
@Almo
I've had a notification for a 3G pad too.. Just taking a screenshot for ross;)
D
@Doobry
Mine finally updated. Woohoo! :D
Should wait for the WebOS tablet from the previous article instead.
@Johnny Rockets
Freedom is a choice. I choose not to. Not interested in WebOS.
@Almo
"Freedom is a choice."
Then why would you buy an iPad, when neither of those are available?
"You are logged in as Craigslist" ?
We had a revolution in 1776 over a 5% tax -- you blokes pay 17.5%, and say "Thank you sir, may I have another!!?"
@Ed T
rumour has it we'll be seeing 20% in the budget..
@Ed T
Because I can walk into any hospital in the country and receive quality healthcare for free. I'll take that, thank you very much.
Also, our MPs need duck houses.
@Ed T Don't worry it all goes to a good cause; teenage mothers and chavs who live off unemployment benefits! Good eh?!
But, to be honest, the UK does have the second(?) lowest sales tax in Europe Its 25% for the Danes and Dutch :O
@Kombat Wombat
For now...
Canada isn't as lucky yet :(
@y3knik And Monday is a Holiday here too.
@HighestRanked2
nope, expected deliver date is 28th, and with Monday being a holiday, I will be surprised if I will have it then.
'In other words, just be happy knowing all systems are go and your productivity is still likely to be shot on Wednesday.'
What's happening on Wednesday?
@orangeinsanity
Yeah, I don't get it either. May 28th is a Friday, no?
@kickerbockeragua
ah you guys beat me to it
Italy: notification received today 22/5
Vancouver, BC Canada
They shipped my $0.20 SIM card separately... -_- can we say big waste of money, and non-environmentally friendly?
iPad shipped yet? As of May 22, 2010...uhhh no. I ordered mine 12:30 AM PST on May 10th. Will I get it by May 28th? probably not considering the next business day is the 24th, meaning they have to ship it to my door in under a week, which I think isn't possible.
Nothing against Europe, but I don't understand how Canada gets shafted to the UK and other European countries even though we are right next to the USA.
I called Apple today, and they said its scheduled for the 28th so expect it by then. I have my doubts
@clai Just be lucky you don't live in eastern Europe, which doesn't exist according to Apple (especially with regard to the iTunes store). Poland sits right next to Germany, and Estonia's just across the water from Finland, yet neither have any access to iTunes store music, videos or apps.
Incidentally, the Economist have an article about it: http://www.economist.com/world/europe/displaystory.cfm?story_id=16056150
@r3loaded
I won't pretend to understand how it feels like to be in that area, but that bites the big one man.
Canada also has a lot of annoying issues with the states as well in terms of content. Hulu, some restricted youtube content...yeah its a big pain as a consumer.
@clai Actually, when you make the order you can choose whether you want to ship it all in the same package, or each piece at the time of availability. The option is not too obvious to find tho.
words fail me
Just got my shipment notice from Apple 2 days ago, will be here by the 26th, 2 day or more before official release...can't wait.
Paolo, Maple, Canada.
@paolo333333
26th?!?!! luck sob lol >_< I already bought the apps I wanted and everything ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I am green with envy.
actually i work for UPS, and we have been told that Monday and Tuesday, ALL apple deliveries are suspended but ONLY iPads are to be delivered due to high demand, we are very strict when it comes to apple deliveries, so if you live in north wales then you should get your iPad this week :-)
@neonaddict
Really? My delivery is for North Wales. Llay. Small(ish) world! Unless you're talking about, um, Maentwrog or something!
When will the tracking numbers update?
@neonaddict UPS? How come mine in the UK is via TNT!
I live in Toronto Canada. I ordered an iPod touch last week. It was shippe on the 19th from foxconn in china and got to my house on the 20th. Within 24 hrs. So for all u canadians don't worry. It will likely ship on Thursday at like 3 am and u will have it by Friday
I hope it gets really low sales numbers so apple pushes the second gen out faster.
@fast
I'm not apple fan boy, but I very much doubt low sales numbers considering they pushed newer iPad preorders to June 7th. Also 1 million unit number came out not to long ago, and that is a very good indicator that demand for this product is high.
Also thinking about your comment, why would low sales numbers push apple to create a next generation product if there is no demand for it? basic economics?
But like the iphone and its yearly release we will most likely see something similar for next generation iPads
@clai ...well just hoping the hopefully faster new gen comes quick. 1 million sales is great because they can cover r&d and profit goals faster. When taking indicators from numbers one should always look at all the implications. Leaving the basic and thinking a bit further won't hurt. If the market for tablets picks up, competition will make them push better stuff out. Picking up at this moment means bad outside the us numbers would probably make them act on it.
I honestly can't WAIT to finally get my iPad this Friday. It's been a long long journey with at least two failed attempts to get it brought to me from the US.
@blinddance
I couldn't wait either so just ordered mine off eBay from someone who already had it in the uk after a trip to Vegas. I was surprised that I actually got it cheaper than the release price. Paid £470 for the 32gb wifi version. Brand new, still in wrapping too.
From what I understand ready site after site on the web, my iPad is shipping from China and will arrive in the UK for Friday. I'm out after work that day so when I first use my iPad I will be drunk...
@Steviebe Mine shipped yesterday with a hold date of at least wednesday so looks like Friday
There is a load of iPads available in Hong Kong, and I mean loads. Every tech type shop seems to have a good supply of them. I don't think HK is even included on the pre-orders list.
