Where can I get/listen to all of these 8 bit-ish pop song renditions?
@Spaceshipped
And Niggles sounds offensive.
@Spaceshipped
I'd like to know that too.
Wow, new record Trent???
Either way, great podcast...if not one of the best!
Nilay's 8-bit connection
Engadget HD & Mobile
an Assassination
and video...........lol jk
@abedinthehouse. You forgot the best part Commander. When Nilay randomly shouted out my name near the end. Caught by my Jedi Mind trick he was. I hope they didn't cut that out
@Lord Vader
Oh yes! How could I forget, I do believe he also mentioned the dark side at some point. I will have to listen to this podcast allover again just to see what else I may have missed. The dark side is strong with this podcast; the assassination shall fuel the anger needed to turn the engadget staff.
@abedinthehouse
Lets not forget Nilay's little skit!
@abedinthehouse. I have intercepted the transmission, it is located at 1:10:15
@abedinthehouse
Serious Guys - I gotta say, (anti-british sentiment aside) this was the best podcast ever
@Theory28
Much agreed, these just keep getting better and better. Way to go team Engadget, I'm loving these!
@Theory28 Totally agree. This was the best Podcast yet.
The shout out to Lord Vader was the icing the cake.
Is... the starting music "Baby" by Justin Bieber? It... can't be... right? ... RIGHT?!
Finally!!
Getting faster on the releases from live to mp3! But still not fast enough :)
This is gonna be a great podcast.
That intro song makes me feel like a 4 year old staring at a video game on a CRT television again.
First time listener of the podcast and I gotta tell you.....I like it. You guys are pretty funny.
Nilay's parents STOPPED WATCHING TV
Good Evo review. Still I find it unfortunate that even after such a glowing review, you're like "well, yeah but I wouldn't switch from Verizon". This is why Sprint is doing so poorly despite the best prices and plans available. The whole carrier loyalty thing is why there is no real competition in the market. You can offer the best phone and the best prices and the first 4G and everything but people won't switch carriers? Coverage is not as good as Verizon in rural areas for certain but in cities, towns and along highways it is great. If for some reason you aren't in native coverage you roam free on Verizon. Only time that ever happens to me is in the DC metro tunnels where VZW has an exclusive contract.
Maybe it makes me a Sprint fanboy but I just find it sad that a company's attempt to compete are thwarted by habit and inertia. If someone came out with a better phone/plan/service combo I would switch in a second.
Also as far as 4G, I don't think you would want to leave it on all the time when not using it. It's pointless because you don't need it to get calls or texts or emails. Think of it more like city-wide WiFi that you can toggle on or off when you need it. The little 4G widget makes it simple to turn it on when you are going to stream a video or browse the web the same way you would toggle your WiFi radio or Bluetooth radio when you need to use them.
This probably was the best podcast. I thought Nilay's bit was gonna be lame but it had me laughing so hard. Joshua's dismissal of Lord Vader was also hilarious
It's still not possible to download the podcast from the iPhone's iTunes version...
This podcast had me rollin', omg. I laughed so hard. The podcasts have been bang on since the year started, awesome work guys.
What the hell is with the bieber opening?
Very funny podcast this time guys! I LOL'ed many times. Also enjoyed hearing Ben on this one.
OT: You guys should seriously consider renaming EngadgetHD to EngadgetTV IMHO. They spend most of their time talking about 3d and DVR's now anyway (which is fine but the name HD doesn't really capture that).
Wow, this is possibly the funniest podcast ever.
Wow.. I love listening to your podcast as its interesting for tech stuff, but this podcast was frickin hilarious!
You even had my fiancée laughing as we listened while driving around... (and she isn't that into the tech stuff...)
:o)
Thanks everyone! The links to the songs are ALWAYS in the post, up top. We are ALWAYS working on the feed; we know there are issues on certain iPhone iterations - please bear with us! Love y'all.
Great podcast guys. I need more Zeigler in my engadget podcast!
Im closing my eyes.... and... the Video is awsome! really is 1080p!!!
OMFG Nileys sad violin part... THANK YOU SO MUCH. You made my day. You should put it up on youtube and viral it.
@kopmis oops, i mean Paul
Since Josh was a music producer/DJ/whatever, does he make those chiptune bits?
And I think Josh needs to DJ an engadget show.
Nilay's Niggles should become a standard feature of the podcast. I'm interested in learning what other life-scarring experiences drove Nilay into his current predicament as Engadget's managing editor.
Best video podcast ever.
best ever
It was fun watching all 3 Engadget podcasts collide into one another. Nilay, as a man who has took on an IR blaster project for school, I can feel your pain...
I don't understand how I have been video chatting via Google Talk from my N900 front facing camera for months now. And in your podcast you guys are talking about how it would be so cool if someone could add video chat into the phone. Then how you were confused how one type of phone would ever be able to video chat with another type of phone.... Your app world has really hurt your view of reality. I laugh at how in the know you sound while at the same time you are completely ignorant.
Greatest podcast ever!
Segue denied!
is there somewhere i can read more about this xbox media center set up?
I want to see what exactly i need to have it up and running.
@JohnnyTightlips
Might be best to wait till Ben and Nilay are able to get a Ceton cable card and write their how to article on that. In the mean time you might want to start listening the engadgetHD podcast. And if you have any questions, Ben seems to answer every question that's posted in the engadgetHD podcast comments.
If your interested in Ben's current setup you might want to check out his blog http://bjdraw.com/ , he might of posted an engadgetHD article on that too.
You have apparently missed the fact that Maemo, and the Nokia N900 Supports Video chat on Google talk, Skype, and SIP as a standard feature via the integrated messaging service. And yes, you can video chat with someone on a computer using any one of these services....
You also don't seem to realize that skype is even available in mobile form...
Perhaps I should cut you some slack since originating a video chat was added only in the latest release, though answering a video chat (with video fed from the front facing camera) has been included as a
standard feature for several months.
