You have apparently missed the fact that Maemo, and the Nokia N900 Supports Video chat on Google talk, Skype, and SIP as a standard feature via the integrated messaging service. And yes, you can video chat with someone on a computer using any one of these services....
You also don't seem to realize that skype is even available in mobile form...
Perhaps I should cut you some slack since originating a video chat was added only in the latest release, though answering a video chat (with video fed from the front facing camera) has been included as a standard feature for several months.
