iPhone video conferencing surfaces in supposed test firmware
Need a bit more evidence that the next iPhone will do video conferencing? Then take a good, hard look at the exciting screenshot above, which supposedly comes from a field test firmware for the next-gen iPhone that Apple is apparently working on. Not much more to go on than that at the moment, unfortunately, but Boy Genius Report says the screenshot (and a second one after the break) comes from one of its "Apple guys" and, as you can see, it not only offers yet more evidence of video calls, but video call debugging.

Android is and always two steps back from what apple does
@jgalvan08, lets see, the video engine Apple developers are using for ichat, was designed by Global IP Solutions. Google (Android developer) purchased GIPS last week. YEP!!! They're 2 steps behind, not to mention this: http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/21/google-i-o-recap-more-web-than-you-can-shake-a-frozen-desert-at/
Shouldn't those shots be double the resolution?
@hollis Its the pixel density.
hahaha dump logs
Well, in the uk the networks have been doing 3g video call for over 7 years, they cost the same as voice calls and can come out of your included minutes, just like mms with sms. Why is the US always so far behind?
@rfielder Because the us is much larger. It's harder for small companies to compete therefore two large carriers have pretty much controlled the evolution of the mobile world at their leisure.
I wonder if you could link this with the iPad and use this as the primary video screen and the iPhone for the camera bit.
