I hate when people wear pants/jean/shorts without a belt if said garment has belt loops. Why the F would they put them there if not to wear. He looks like one of those hipster doofus kids that hang out at malls but then more lame due to the turtle neck.
Yeah I know it's off topic but then again this isn't breaking either...
@BuryTheCastle Many people is waiting for the official new iphone announcement. I know this is not the best place but I thought some of you will find interesting that HP is planning to resurect the Win 7 Slate?: HP: no webOS netbooks, Slate still on tap for October http://www.precentral.net/hp-no-webos-netbooks-slate-still-tap-october
@Federaly Yeah that dude is weird. Watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley2 (which for some reason, isn't available on iTunes, lol) to get a picture of the narcissistic, monomaniacal, dweeb he really is. But of course, he does bring out some appealing products from time-to-time. Dude needs to buy a suit and look like he's worth a billion dollars once in a while though.
@skyblaze You know, every time I see that "Breaking!" banner, i think of one of those red sirens in the middle of the ceiling in the Engadget office going off.
"Watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley"..." You know that was like a drama, right? The characters were created by a writer and people were doing that acting thing...
@MarkAnderson I think that Jobs will unveil more than just another iPhone. I believe that he will update the iPods, update Apple TV, and give the iPod Nano a touchscreen with iPhone OS to boot.
Possibly. I certainly hope so and I'd love it if they came clean, said the latest Shuffle was a huge mistake and gave us a decent micro player instead. Also, might be some news on Apple TV tie ups, a new iPod Touch and other bits and bobs.
But...
It's mainly going to be about the new iPhone and how many iPads have been sold/apps downloaded isn't it?
@Federaly I thought the loops were for fattiest who buy pants that are 4 inches to large - they know they'll grow into 'em - but in the mean time need a belt.
@jmiotto I don't think we'll see an iPod refresh till the fall, with the back to school free-iPod promo running till September clearing old iPod stocks. I think apart from the new iPhone we might see a new iLife suite and a new iWork package. Just my guess.
I don't understand personal attacks against Steve Jobs. He cares for his company and looks at it as his creation, his contribution... a lot of people hate it... and equally huge number of people love it. And he is passionate about it. To top that off, he fights an equally tough battle in his personal life - his health!
You create a multi-billion dollar company like he did... and you'd be passionate about it too! No matter what people said about it. But wait, you can't do that... you are only good at commenting from behind your spoofed ip hiding behind a proxy.
I might loathe Apple for being bone headed sometimes and love them for good products sometimes... but I don't know Steve Jobs personally and attacking him on a personal level based on how he looks, dresses, does whatever... doesn't make sense to me. If your idea of success in life is belittling other people's clothing preference... You have reached the pinnacle. Your famly would be proud of you!
@CaryHiroyuki Tagawa yes that's funny to joke about. Not. It's pretty insulting for you to compare anyone to Kim Jong Il. I'd like to see what kind of evidence you have to support such a comparison.
@BuryTheCastle Actually, it could be bombastic if Jobs will try to poke google as well. Although, it would be more great if he will shed a detail about that verizon 4g iPhone. http://j.mp/4g-verizon-iphone-dream
2. He doesnt really make the keynotes bearable, idk about the rest of you but he spits soo much BS I personally find it unbearable.
3. Idk what you guys at Engadget are thinking but the CEO of a company coming to an important Keynote to announce a big product for his/her company IS NOT breaking news. It should be obvious trivia. Please stop fueling trolls and fanboys alike with news that is clearly not "breaking." Maybe the Press Release is worth mentioning, but not the fact that Jobs will personally be there, like every fanboy (and apple hater) didnt already know this...
4. Yes, he will be rocking his all too famous (and ugly/outdated) attire at WWDC 2010
PS "and has recently introduced its magical iPad which is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices." --from Press Release
The word magical is starting to make be cringe now that I hear it so much.
Now that guy with the Bing icon MAY be biased himself, but he has a point. "This article proves the biasedness that exists here. so lame. ZOMG BREAKING THE CEO OF APPLE WILL SPEAK AT AN APPLE EVENT."
Why would we expect anything less to happen in an event as big as WWDC is for Apple? We'd be stupid not to.
@who said what How about the fact that he is abusve to his employees? How about the fact that he is such a power hungry ego maniac that Woz couldn't take it anymore and left the company? How about the fact that when apple went public, Jobs didn't even give stock options for a lot of the employees who had been there in the garage with him and woz from day one? Woz gave most of his stock away to these people since Jobs wouldn't give them ANYTHING.
@HoldenMccrotch Engadget is getting better...well they had too seeing how Android is going to be #1 in the near future (after it passes Rim). It's okay for them to have a few Apple people on board, as long as they don't get form some sort of cult. Lately they have been doing a great job on Android reporting so kudos to Engadget for more open and fair reporting.
how bout the fact that he doesn't give a F about being popular, or what you thin, or what some 36 yr old virgin says on a blogpost. He wants to make he greatest machines on the planet.
You think Michael Jordan was nice to his teammates? No F-ing way, he ripped them to shreds if they made mistakes. You're talking about one of the greatest leaders in American business. Rather than spouting a vein of pure idiocy, you should be taking notes.
Out of curiosity I watched a few previous Jobs keynotes, including the original iphone presentation. Jobs is interesting because he can combine in a few minutes a great Dylan or Beatles quote, an insightful vision on the future of mobile devices, and what I consider to be cheap salesman speech. He did it with the iphone which was announced at "just 499 $", and with the ipad, which was "not 999 $, but 'just' 499$"... what I like also is that it's obvious the guy has been around the industry for a while and knows that in the end what matters is not the spec sheet but the user experience, and I think it's key to Apple's success.
"I'm a college student looking for a new laptop, but almost all of my media I receive digitally. I'm looking for a laptop, not a netbook, without an optical drive, and budget sensitive. The optical drive will just be a waste of space, when I can have thinner laptop. What's out there?"

That's actually reassuring to hear. He really does make keynotes a bit more bearable. Here's hoping to some game-changeing announced then.
@BuryTheCastle
"Not a chance!"
@BuryTheCastle
Breaking* hes going to be wearing, excuse me rocking a black high neak with jeans left right and center.
you have witnessed a picture from the future and past.
@BuryTheCastle
And at the event he will announce....
A new iPhone.
OK. Moving on.
@BuryTheCastle
If he presents an iPhone with screen size less than 3.5" (the news seems to confirm this), he blew it...
@BuryTheCastle

@MarkAnderson Apple is always full of surprises! There will be more than just an iPhone.
@Federaly Yeah that dude is weird. Watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley2 (which for some reason, isn't available on iTunes, lol) to get a picture of the narcissistic, monomaniacal, dweeb he really is. Waiting for the EXOPC Slate...
@MarkAnderson
What do you mean "Engadget's a tech blog"?! What is this tomfoolery?! Clearly this site is about tundra penguins!
(seriously, why the hell is this breaking??)
BOOM here comes the BOOM here comes the BOOM
@inspiron41 Looks like your joke went over everyone's heads ;-)
@trainwrecka
When they introduce the 4G they should have a techno group performing a song entitled "You Blew It."
@skyblaze
You know, every time I see that "Breaking!" banner, i think of one of those red sirens in the middle of the ceiling in the Engadget office going off.
Must be a lot of alarms when Apple news flys.
@BuryTheCastle
If he wears a tutleneck and jeans, and has a bald head that looks like a roasted peanut -- he blew it.
@wolf359
"Watch "Pirates of Silicon Valley"..."

@MarkAnderson
Yep, can't wait. I bet it will be Magical!!! With magical features like touch dialing and calendars, things that Apple recently invented!
On second thought, he may just come out and say, "the new iPhone", 75% of the features of Android 2.2, 0% of the openness. We're pretty proud of it."
@Doctor Kwame Nkrumah
*checks comment history*
I strongly disagree...
@steel
Which, 98% if android is reminiscents of older iPhone "magic".
And no, I am actually a fan to neither.
@skyblaze
More trolling skyblaze?
Its NOT YOUR WEBSITE IDIOT.
Engadget can put "Breaking" on whatever they damn well please asshole.
@TheLondonExchange
...i missed you too.
(no homo)
@Sean Connery
Note to self: Steve Jobs IS a gadget.
This as gadget news sort of says, if they don't include Steve Jobs, they blew it.
@jmiotto
Possibly. I certainly hope so and I'd love it if they came clean, said the latest Shuffle was a huge mistake and gave us a decent micro player instead. Also, might be some news on Apple TV tie ups, a new iPod Touch and other bits and bobs.

You won't be disappointed ;)
@BuryTheCastle
Here's hoping he stops behaving like Kim Jong-Il with his information purification techniques and North Korean operating systems.

@Federaly
You know what belts are for? Seems you don't. Go ask you mammy.
@rutter9, there won't be a 4G iPhone until June 2011. This is just a new generation running on 3G. The actual iPhone sporting 4G support is still a year out. http://www.onlykent.com/20100521/iphone-4g-release-date-confirmed-by-foxconn/#more-10685

@MacArtStyle
theyll probably announce 3 MP camera!!!
whatever it is, i can guarantee that engadget are going to blow it way out of proportion, no matter how basic it is
@Yota
Well my belt holds up my pants but my beltloops hold up my belt. Who's the real hero down there
@who said what
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Btw, Not only did he create a multi-billion dollar company...he also manages to defy gravity. Kudos to you Mr. Jobs.
@rutter9 Not sure why you got the down vote, I thought that was pretty funny.
@CaryHiroyuki Tagawa
yes that's funny to joke about. Not.

@who said what Agreed.

You're a Microsoft shareholder? Now I see why you're so angry.

Nice one, that was funny

lol I'm not sure either - I'm assuming the fan boys down rank anything involving apple they are confused about.
SSD: 4g = 4th gen type into any search engine and see what comes up...
@BuryTheCastle
iPad2 - we added a USB port and $100 to the price tag. it's ok, we know you'll buy it.

The guy is just a jerk and ass all around.
@BuryTheCastle I think the skinnier he gets, the more humble he becomes. When he was bulkier he had so much arrogance.
