Okay, now this is just getting ridiculous. We know Onkyo has a
long history of building iPod docks, but to see the company build an entire all-in-one PC around the feature is a little much, especially when --
once again -- the iPhone isn't invited to the party. No, when the E713 series ships in Japan next month at or around the ¥99,880 (about $1100) price point, it will include up to a
Core i5-650 processor, 4GB of RAM, a digital TV tuner, Blu-ray drive, 1TB hard drive and loads of ports behind that 23-inch, 1920 x 1080 LCD screen, but a slide-out iPod classic / nano / touch dock that apparently can't accommodate the iPhone's portly frame. That's
discrimination, right there -- or at least we'll keep on telling ourselves that, since we're all out of sour grapes.
looks like a wang
@noodles2k you sir need to visit the doctor
@fingers what?! you mean you can't dock an iPod with yours?
@noodles2k not for want of trying, i seem to lack the length required for 30pins
Making the iPhone not fit... poor choice.
So bad I've gotta get one...!!!
I don't see how it could hold a classic and touch but not an iPhone? A classic is fat, a touch is tall...what dimension keeps the iPhone from "fitting"? Or is it that it isn't "supported" as in - functionally.
ONKYO.....a brand name you can trust.
Useless! When is someone going to make an iPhone dock built into a keyboard? i.e., replacing the numeric pad. Slot the phone into a hinged dock and once docked you can lay it flat. Once there it can be a numeric pad/track pad/shortcut menu etc etc.
@The Joker
The same reason most people don't develop hardware for the iphone thats reliant on an app, theres no guarantee apple will approve it. When the development/production costs are so high, its not a risk most companies are willing to take.
@Stotherd you could always use AirMouse, an app already approved which does most of those functions ;)
I guess that's just a dock with USB plug on the side that lets you plug into the computer (and hanging there).
iPhone is not preferred because it's heavier and that could fall off from the computer?
(Seriously i'd keep it as a USB port and plug my own dock instead. I think they won't mind...)
Now only if they could fit an ATI 5850 in there then we'll be talking.
And next time you're screwing around with your cables because it's not recognizing your hard drive it's going to snap off. Having little pieces sticking out of the side of a computer is asking for trouble.
It's also awkward looking and ugly.
look at that bezel!!, my god!
Yuch! Onkyo should stick to making amps, that thing's u-g-l-y.
Holy Bezel Batman!
I got cybernet all-in-on pc, no ipod dock but my usb cable works awesome, and it will not snap off like that little side gadget will. ahaha i got this model check it out.... http://www.cybernetman.com/en/products/AllinOne_LCD_PC/ionegx31.cfm
