Motorola Shadow slithers into Verizon's inventory database as MB810
If the whole "smoke -> fire" adage proves true once more, it's looking like Verizon loyalists can expect to see a Shadow at least a few milliseconds before a CDMA iPhone. Following up on months of leaks and rumors, we've got yet another snippet of evidence pointing towards a VZW release of the so-called Motorola Shadow. Spotted here in the carrier's inventory database, the MB810 moniker aligns perfectly with that WiFi certification we saw earlier in the month. Combine that with the fact that this is definitely some sort of Motorola smartphone, and you've got everything you need to start pinching those pennies for a June / July debut. Oh, you already threw down a Benjamin for Memorial Day grub? Good luck with that return policy.

Droid Life = Win.
@Octotron
im still trying to decide between the evo and the inredible.
badass phone with so-so service (evo)
or badass phone with excellent service. (increible)
as much as i like the evo, im having a hard time trusting sprints network
@Octotron Indeed pure winz
@dgtlber
I have Sprint and I'm lovin it dude, also Sprint roams off Verizons network for free, and they have the best prices ever
@dgtlber
I hear you, but my concern is that if I get any of these phones, they won't be able to keep up with the real 4G devices that will be released next year...
@wakeuplan Well you'll only be at a disadvantage if you live in a major metropolitan area slated for release this year. Plus some of the LTE phones out at first won't do VoLTE anyhow. Both VZW and Sprint have annual upgrades on primary lines or single lines with some exclusions, so you could probably get a new phone in a year anyhow. By then there might actually be LTE where you live.
@Octotron
Now the phone intro will be:
DROOOOOOOOOOOOID TWWWWWO?? XD
@Octotron
I spoke with a very open rep yesterday (rooted droid, CM user) at a VZ store and he openly acknowledged the shadow but said don't expect it until july. He also said there will several new phones by Q1 of 2011 but not an LTE one. He said they wanted to have the mobile broadband users break it in and obviously build up the network further before a phone gets released. and he confirmed the tiered pricing
something something something... Android
Gawd I hope Vz doesn't give in and get something from crApple. Android is the wave of the future.
@iamajim let's see. Verizon seems to love them Android phones. They have the most and top Android phones. Have a feeling they'll stick with that for a while.
@EggoEspada
But there's no reason Verizon couldn't get phones made by an additional manufacturer... let's say Apple.
Can you imagine if Verizon had the Droid family *and* some iPhones? They would be unstoppable.
Saying you don't want Verizon to ever get a phone made by Apple is the exact OPPOSITE of what I want.
I think carrier exclusives sucks... and every phone should be offered on every carrier. It's better for the consumer. Nobody should have to bounce from carrier-to-carrier every two years to chase the phone they want.
Meh... DROID 2!
@FORDY
I agree. Gotta have me my keyboard for games.
Can't wait for this one!!
It is only a shadow of a company it used to be.
Evo 4g Ftww Snapdragon
@lyrik08 OMAP > Snapdragon. 3630 is just as good if not better. And just wait for OMAP4?
Android handsets are win regardless of carrier...unless its at&t.
@ThatDudeSolo so true
I like to see carriers squabbling over the latest technology. And I like mfg's that are tied to carriers. If one carrier had all the phones, that carrier would and could double their prices on phones and service. Basic economics.
@crob
I disagree, if every carrier had every phone, you'd actually see a drop in phone prices and services, since the carrier can't get your business simply because they have a phone you can't get anywhere else.
@mitochondria9 you misunderstood what he said. He said if ONE carrier has every phone then it could double it's prices and such (which is true because it'd have a monopoly).
@JohnRiccard May I add that "if every carrier had every phone" is an impossibility. If you look at how the cell phone market has grown (or any other market in a free society), companies observe their competitors weaknesses, and strive to be better. Companies also sometimes become complacent with success and lose that edge, drop market share, and the cycle to strive for excellence begins again. Without that competition driving the technology, I would guess we would be lucky to have the ability to play pong on our telyphones today. I am glad to be a verizon customer, and real happy not be an I-Sheep. And if I get a case of EVO envy, I just need to wait a few weeks, and Verizon will give me what I want.
so whats the final verdict on the processor for this phone??
i keep hearing either between a snapdragon and a ti omap
@inertone TI OMAP 3630 with PowerVR SGX 530 I believe, but built on 45nm process and clocked higher so you get like 80% more performance.
@inertone
It'll likely be the 3630.
Anyone want to buy a Droid in good condition? I want this phone. 4" screen is the perfect size IMO.
Phone with a slide out gamepad , GO!
I love the Android platform, they are quickly rewriting history as we know it.
the incredible is going to resume shipping on the 22 of june, but maybe droid shadow will dominate its specs by then??
http://briefmobile.com/incredible-to-resume-shipping-june-22
MOT-MB810? Sounds too much like MotoBlur to me... It better ship with 2.2!
Are there anymore updates on this phone? I am looking to buy the Incredible but would be nice to have some updates.
