MSI follows fate's whispers, intros 24-inch Wind Top AE2420 3D
Typical, right? As the 3D craze flows from the cinema to the television and onto the PC, it was just a matter of time before one of MSI's Wind Top all-in-ones shipped with support for the third dimension. By most accounts, the new Wind Top AE2420 3D looks like a mildly larger version of the AE2220 we peeked late last year, touting a 24-inch 1080p multitouch panel, support for shutter glasses (a single pair is included), Core i5 or i7 CPU options and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5730 pushing the pixels. There's also a pair of 5-watt speakers built-in, not to mention an Ethernet jack, VGA output and a handful of USB 2.0 sockets. Mum's the word on pricing, but MSI is expected to have this bad boy on display as Computex kicks off early next week. Yeah, you know we'll be there pretending to be embarrassed while donning the spectacles.
Update: Turns out we already spent some quality time with this guy back at CeBIT, only now it has a name. Huzzah!

That ad is terribly cheesy .
@keanu096 I bet it can even handle full screen flash movies, amazing!
@keanu096
Worst. Advert. Ever.
I want one
3d is cool nor-matter what.
Who wants to bet how easy this thing will overheat while using heavy application games?
@ComeShot This thing will light on FIRE
@ComeShot or while using Youtube(FLASH) 3D
Now we are talking. Pack an ATI 5870 and I'll think about it!
It's a huge 3D tablet!!!! And people said they couldn't make a windows 7 tablet.
Dont you need an Nvidia Card to do 3D on a computer?
@TehSilentWolf
That statement/remark is a FAIL. Big green got to you. You can do 3D with ATI, I don't think those 3DTVs have Nvidia chips, do you?
No hdmi, pfft. No esata port, lame. Last years chips, so backward. Built in graphics, typical msi, I could put a better card in a box for cheaper from newegg. Pay the 3D tax, howl
should be half that price!
@Cy Starkman
Should be USB 3.0 ports already, the specs been out for aggggggeeesss. Oh and how I am sposed to plug it into my home theatre, can it send audio over that VGA port.
This is what I hate about msi, backward overpriced gimmicks for consumers
@Cy Starkman
they didn't list a price genuis.
@Cy Starkman
Core 2010 and 5000 series are modern chips fool.
@fel jsut what i was about to say xD
@TehSilentWolf
Oh really? You mean I was saying dumb ass stuff. Wow.
Perhaps you didn't get the irony of my comments. Fools LOL
Do these things even sell nowadays? I mean now that you can get Core i5/i7 on a laptop, an all-in-one desktop is the worst of both worlds. It is not as fully upgradeable vs a regular desktop case, and it's not as portable as a laptop. As laptop prices going cheaper and performance going up thanks to Core ix, people would rather buy laptops.
Actually, TehSilentWolf has a point. I haven't heard of any released ATI 3d drivers. Whats this using to do 3d generation from games, an external parties driver such as iZ3d's? If so, then the performance will probably lag behind the current nvidia solution which has full access to the driver.
Despite this, IZ3d drivers are great and the company seems to actually listen to what the customers want.
Am I the only person who is not at all interested in this 3D revolution?
This seems like hollywood marketing going horribly awry to me.
In the end, I don't think I am the only one not interested.
I think we will be looking back in a few short years at the massive 3D roll-out failure of 2010/2011.
@savagemike
No I don't care either.
Also it looks like this will have touch screen so how will that work with the 3d.
@Jukke u touch the screen.... :/
They better have improved the 3D on this boy since Cebit, because that was horrible compared to the NVidia machine. (Not the same type of 3D on those)
