Nexus One, Nokia X6 coming to South Korea in June
Like Japan, South Korea has a wireless industry that's typically leaps and bounds ahead of just about everywhere else in the world -- but the country has never been a Symbian or Android stronghold, so it's actually not much of a surprise that two big recent releases are just now heading over there this Summer. From Nokia, the X6 will be hitting KT in June for 595,000 won, which works out to $495; Google, meanwhile, will be contributing the Nexus One by way of rival operator SKT toward the end of June for an undisclosed price. Don't say you weren't warned, MOTOROI.

How could Nokia compete? Samsung is using up all the pretty boys already for their CMs. ;)
@pika2000
And I don't know now, but last time I've used a symbian device (Nokia N82), it did not support east asian languages very well... My Korean/Japanese songs were all ... well, alien-ized
Motoroi isn't the only Android phone here...
Andro-1, Sirius, Galaxy A, HTC Desire and I think a couple more...
They all have been getting pretty good reviews and doing quite well. :)
@akbc Last I read, something like 13 Android devices were supposed to be launched in 2010 on SK Telecom alone, meanwhile the largest GSM carrier (important because it's the international standard) in the US, AT&T, cripples the few Android devices it will allow into its stores.
@juanvaldez 8 of which are to roll out in the 2ndQ
@juanvaldez are...hmmm....were? did? I dunno, not sure they all came. Just waiting for my Galaxy S.
@juanvaldez
Yes, we're supposed to expect 25+ Android smartphones this year from SKT, KT and LGT. And 10+ are all from SKT. They really want to do something with KT's iPhone. And to be fair, I fell in love with SKY Sirius after playing with it for a while. My iPhone coverage sucks in Korea since it can only use the 3G network... don't see the problem with Sirius or any other Korean-optimized Android phones.
I guess a a small footprint is still a footprint...
how about the northern part of that area? those poor people doesnt even know what the hell 3g means
@eoeealknn
Different country though.
@eoeealknn
Different country, and different interest in technology.
When you're starving to death and have to worry about tonight's dinner, I doubt typical North Koreans would care much about 3G, let alone any type of wireless/cellular communication. Many households can't even afford to have landlines...
The Nexus One will be released on Mars before it's released with CDMA :(
I am just reading the comments, waiting for someone to mention Starcraft ^^

Because KT subsidize a lot, consumers will be able to get their nexus one at $100.
@iantolee *subsidizes
@iantolee SKT is getting the N1
@juanvaldez KT is getting nexus one. Can't you read the article?
@juanvaldez Well, obviously I CANT. This article is wrong - KT announced that they will release N1 in late June.
the unlocked Google Nexus One and Nokia X6 are all available, http://www.m2cmobile.com but in the South Korea, I think they would mostly choose there own country brand phone
