@nicksilvestri Who said we weren't liveblogging those? Oh right... no one. We're covering everything we can that's pertinent to our users, so definitely Ballmer -- maybe Zuckerberg. Not a lot of gadget news there.
Huh? I don't understand how that's trolling. Two fairly huge important figures at a conference. I'm sure there are a ton of people who read Engadget that would be just as interested in Ballmer's interview as Steve Jobs' (if not more so).
@Joshua Topolsky Thank you for updating this site at 10 PM on Memorial Day and for dealing with ungrateful people that act like they're 12. I can only imagine how frustrated you must get. There are many of us...call us the silent majority....that rarely post because we don't see the need to argue or profess our unhealthy love or hatred for products or companies. We see no bias and enjoy the great work you do.
@JK1111 Agreed. If these guys don't like Engadget then they shouldn't post. Every time they do, the site gets more ad revenue. It's sad that a group of people exists that hates a company for no real reason. Why not enjoy the inventions of all companies? Though, I must say, I will be dusting off my old "Apple Fanboy" card if the Apple TV rumor comes to fruition.
I think that we all eventually move from idealistic perspectives of "ohh how can people be so fanboyish" etc to realistic perspectives and accept the fact that there will always be people who follow brands for the sake of just following brands. We do this in sports, politics, horse racing - it's almost a unique human condition that we feel almost a gravitational pull to taunt or defend those things that we align ourselves to or mis-align ourselves to.
This is a GOOD thing for humanity, believe it or not. Fanboys have their place. We've evolved from a species that fights physically with each other to fighting with our minds. The result is the same. Ideas are thrown out there and are then subjugated to the most extraordinary attacks from the logical to the whimsical. The end result is the same as with other species. The strong ideas survive, the weak gets destroyed. Apple is doing very controversial things and we wouldn't be the human race if we didn't push back against anything and everything (not just apple, of course) which almost ensures that the ideas we build upon have been through their fair share of pain to earn their place.
The resulting battle of technologies will better us all eventually, creating a better, more advanced human race. Here's to arguing - ALL forms of arguing. Just live with it - it makes us stronger.
@buoy I'm just saying that I, personally, love companies that make good products. This is why I like Apple and I like Google (Microsoft - not so much.) But there is no need for hatred for any other sides. Just like it should be in sports or politics. Here's to debate, conversation, creation, and innovation; not to hatred and closed minds.
@Joshua Topolsky Please don't care about fanatics, keep up the good work. Every 13+ years old people on the planet, knows that Steve Jobs is big news, and others are not.
The only reason to watch Ballmer is to see what sort of stupid things he will say this time. Jobs will draw much, much more of a crowd & much more comments.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Umm.. we're only getting a liveblog from Steve's interview?
Not from Ballmer or Zuckerburg..
Of course there's no bias on engadget!
*queue downranks*

@Joshua Topolsky
Why is the title "Steve Jobs to be interviewed at the D conference... and we'll be there live"
Instead of "Steve Ballmer and Steve Jobs to be interviewed at the D conference... and we'll be there live"
Simple question. ;)
@Johnny Rockets
Steve Balmer doesnt give 'sample' computers to 'test' to gadget sites ?
@beachballofdeath No, he just comes on our shows.
@Johnny Rockets Do you think you could troll a little harder? Bring something constructive and intelligent to the conversation, or don't hit submit.
@zomg0t Well feel free to plunge the depths of whatever conspiracy you've got going -- we just don't have the schedule for anyone else yet.
@Joshua Topolsky

@Johnny Rockets There's a recent sidenote in the article that states they'll be covering Ballmer and other big names. So there ya go.

Well, balmer should have top billing, jobs is just a socialist toymaker.

I love engadget! And I love Apple! As well as Microsoft!
@Joshua Topolsky Lol bring something constructive and intelligent to the conversation? You'd probably lose like 50% of your comments then. :)
With that being said. I think its pretty important news. Steve Jobs doesn't give out many interviews. I will be paying attention to it.

Simple facts:
1- Nobody cares about Ballmer
2- Even you... You wouldn't come here and comment if it wasn't Steve Jobs on the spot.
