ASUS EPad: like the EeePad, but with less ecstasy
Well, isn't this typical ASUS. Yet another Eee Pad, or this time an 'EPad' as the placard says, has shown up on the Computex show floor. While the company introduced two Eee Pads at its press conference earlier this week -- the 10-inch EP101TC with NVIDIA Tegra 2 / Windows Embedded Compact 7 and the 12-inch EP121 with Intel / Windows 7 -- this new 10-inch version has popped up running Windows 7 at the Intel booth. We'd be lying if we said we knew what was going on here, but to us it looks like ASUS shot out a working Windows 7 model -- perhaps just to have a functioning device to display on the show floor. There's no telling if it's being powered by Intel's Atom Moorestown platform or a current Menlow Z Series CPU, but the design looks very similar to that of the EP101TC. We've sent off an inquiry to ASUS' PR team, but you'll still want to check out the video after the break of a very slim slate and real live "booth babe."

According to the engraving... the thing on the side MUST be a Power Button...
@Chris Leither
No matter how you look at it , its a ....you know....and really small one...
oh, I LOVE TO SEE HER.
@potretr
never mess with a chick and her pad, she might bite and scratch...
@annoynimous
A 12 inch EPeen would have complemented the EPad really well...
@Chris Leither
yes like you i want her too
@Zylam
There's an asian lady yelling @1:53 and it makes it sound like a food market than anything else.
looks fantastic - can't wait to get my hands on one of those
oh and the slate thing seems ok too i guess
@mrqs
lmao... i was thinking the same thing, i will take both if you ask me.
@mrqs I dunno, she seems to have so much makeup on and move so unnaturally, I'd almost mistake her for a robot...
And while that's hot, it's also a little creepy.
@mrqs Wait. I guess she's of the RESISTIVE kind. Sorry dude.
@mrqs
Even the guy talking was like, "Looks really nice... uh um... the tablet looks really nice."
Every time they have a model showing off something I just lose focus.
@mrqs
Um...my intel sources tell me she is a prototype android running a 128-core 22nm MIC Processor...
I guess that explains the necklace, the ring, and the intel tattoo...
One question remains: Where can I buy one?
For the record, that's not a Booth Babe, that's a Product Waif. Booth Babes are generally sluttier.
@Bobfantastic
Either way... I'd ask her to press my power button any day.
She can turn me on anyday.
@WilliamNighthawk Check 1:49. Are we sure she isn't a sex bot? Her skin seems to be pulling off. [Damn Intel and their overheating products.]
@Neither
Massive babe.
let see how many girl comments will show up now ;)
Why does the Wallpaper say eePC
I'll believe it when I see it on a shelf.
@Threlly The EPad slate or the girl?
Is the EEEPad or EPad targeted for Enterprises? Can it be joined to an AD?
This is the best looking "iPad competitor" I've seen yet but I'm biased towards using Windows 7 anyway. If they can get this out for a decent price, decent battery life, and couple it with Windows Embedded Compact 7 I'd be all over it today if it was out. Very nice design, great layout, and black all the way around. Very nice, very nice indeed.
I'll take the EPAD and the girl...
She is gorgeous!!!
Ohhh where I can get myself one of them.... the girl, not the tablet.
It seems Intel have collared and branded her, sign me up for one too!
@CKnowles If Taipei is anything like Manila, my experience would dictate that you can find one of them near any Americanized area. They will be around mostly at night and they will talk to you and pretend to care what you say for a few minutes before they offer to go back to your hotel room for about $100. Just make sure she was born a woman before it's too late. (For the record, I did not actually pay for or have sex with any prostitutes. As for the tranny issue, that's just what I heard.)
@CapnShiner
you're creepy
Whoever came up with the title for this one (Joanna?) wins.
Pity the viewing angles are shite, especially the vertical angle. Once you rotate a tablet and it shows a different colour / contrast to each of your eyes (due to the poor vertical viewing angle) it gets annoying really quick
Intel could make way more money by releasing that PleasureBot in time for Xmas
Sorry but I couldn't resist:
Got to get my Intel inside and see if I can over-cock her.
But does it actually work or do anything, or is it just a static desktop wallpaper (of Windows 7) for show?
A pretty model holding it up for display for a minute without seeing it's functionality isn't worth much.
Did anyone see it actually do anything?
If not, it's just another potential "vapourware" device on display and nothing more.
Can we have at least ONE time when post shows a girl, it doesnt lead to sexual matter? shyte are you guys such losers in real life you have to resort to such comments on TECH blog? Yes am also reference to loser white guys who need their oriental fix ( who can't get any other girls)
This "EPad" will match my Zune HD. Great job ASUS.
The EPAD is bangin'. Nice job ASUS.
If the girl comes with the ePad or EEEEEEEEEEPad, or whatever that box of chocolates is called - sign me up. Actually... can i get a discount and get just the girl? I don't need that ugly plastic thing she's holding.
I like the name EPad. Type "E4 EPad" into YouTube to see why.
i wish i could get my hand on one of those two...glossy with a lovely sexy poer button allowing easy handling :)
Beautiful girl. Very elegant— Intel tattoo and bling not withstanding.
It's "ee PC" not "eee PC"? Pretty suspect.
INTEL BLING
Awesome. Now we have a giant Zune HD and a giant iPhone (M1Touch) running Windows 7.
The device is cool but the girls are better!
How many "Intel" logos does this girl have!?
no demo of the actual thing?...so what's the difference between this EPad to the Eee Pad?..they look different from the outside and this one looks more reliable...
after the mess that was the EP101TC/Tegra2 demo this Intel based version may make it to market before the EP101TC. I am guessing this platform/form factor tablet will also have several incarnations like asus does with the eeePC.
And the girl is absolutely stunning, and tall too. Did anyone notice how much taller she is than the Intel marketing girl who pulled the ePad out of the cabinet. I can see why you guys are drooling. -jessica@tokyo
@jms probably the Eee PC T101MT motherboard inside the EP101TC slate packaging. Also why they were maybe able to prepare it so quickly.

Oh wow, Joanna, you were right, she's soo skinny. Here's a vote for the less skinny babes out there! Go forth, and compete with the skinny ones, and I shall buy products from both booths, unbiased by skinnyness.
