iiView M1Touch is a 10-inch iPhone tablet, seriously (video)
Always thought the iPad should've really just been an enlarged iPhone? No, seriously -- like an iPhone after one of those "Honey, I Blew Up the Kids" incidents? Well, iiView is bringing just that to market this month, except its M1Touch runs Windows 7 Premium and packs an Intel Atom N450 processor along with 2GB of RAM. It also has a 250GB hard drive and a 1.3-megapixel cam on its left bezel. We finally got to see the tablet up close and personal -- it's been under lock and key in the Microsoft booth all week -- and it's pretty much the biggest iPhone you've ever seen. The capacitive touchscreen was fairly responsive, though there was a noticeable lag in opening programs. We're told it also has an accelerometer and that the familiar circular button on the right bezel will bring you back to the desktop, but both were disabled on the display model. Around the edges you'll spot a trio of ports, a SIM slot, a mini HDMI output and a microphone jack. As for the actual feel of this thing, it's pretty thick from the sides and weighs 1.5 pounds. Chances are that you stopped reading this post a few minutes ago and started clicking through the gallery to see shots of bugger alongside a normal iPhone, but we'd encourage you to also peek the video waiting just past the break. Oh, and if you'd like to give your iPhone an inferiority complex, you can always head on over to that source link and order one of these for $499.

Does no one ever have an original idea anymore? It's an uglier version of the iPad running an even uglier operating system. Also 3 hours of battery life is just sad. This is so unworthy of the money that it makes me wonder why it is even being produced; it is unneeded. For 100 bucks less you can have an iPad with a battery that can last 10 hours or a hell of a lot longer on standby, that is, if you are willing to give up hard drive space. Let me assure you I am.
This marks the death of Creative Product Design. Specs / battery life / flash / Camera / OS aside. WTF. Shameless in it's design, it's farcical how computer hardware designers aren't even trying to hide the roots of it's design origin. I'm absolutely appalled quite frankly.
I don't know about you, but I like it. If it will dual boot Ubuntu or Linux Mint, I'd be swimming in happy.
but "seriously", how is the ipad not just an enlarged iphone tablet? sorry, i guess its just an enlarged ipod touch. at least running windows 7, this thing will have true multi-tasking and i'm not talking about "background apps."
what a stupid headline and article.
Yes! Another netbook with no keyboard. Sluggish and awkward. When this device gets Android or WebOS (i know, i know... wont happen) - let me know. You just can't use a Desktop OS on a small touch screen like that.
DAMN YOU ATOM PROCESSOR, WHY WON'T YOU DIE!!!
680 grams = cool, it is as light as iPad but full featured
@cile1977 if battery is as good as iPad then we just need touch optimized apps for win7...
So tempted to get this, if only the battery lasted atleast 5 hours .....
Buy an Acer Aspire One, rip the keyboard out and since there is a compute there, glue that part (keyboard up) to the screen. And whoala! You got yourself yet another underpowered, thick and sluggish netbook, but now without a keyboard. And all that goodness for a meer $400!
@bathellfire my netbook weights 1200 grams - this thing here have just 680 grams. but real problem with this win7 tablets is: there are no touch optimized apps for win7
I swear if anyone give me this as a gift i will either throw this on the wall or blend it into dust! Crap gadget! Im so glad that i've bought an ipad!!!
How many tablets hv they announced to date? 10? 20? 30? None is as good as an ipad. Sorry ipad haters. Im one of the pc user, but ipad changed everything. My 2 vaio TZ & Z are now a sitting duck.... Collecting dust!
@Eddiez So while you were bragging about your iPad, I watched a video on hulu, played a couple flash games, went through a couple albums on foobar and all the while I was chatting on team speak. And this is possible on any number of netbooks that cost less than an iPad. What say you to that?
Am I the only one who likes the specs? 250gb HD? Atom N450 Processor?
That's some insides I like to see.
@Auouywonz A traditional hard drive in a hand-held device? C'mon! They cannot be serious. I just can't see the attraction of a netbook without a keyboard. What's the big advantage?
@Ruthless
An accelerometer for vertical web navigation. Multitouch screen for better UI experience. 1.5lbs meaning it's lighter and more portable than a netbook. Great for video chats, looking at photos, map software, ebooks, etc.
I guess apple's patent lawyers are on vacation.
I thought this was called an Ipad
Isn't that the description of an iPad, a big iPhone without the phone?
It's a rebranded TESO J-10 I have had one for almost a month already that I got direct from Hong Kong. They just upgraded the ram to 2GB and the hard drive to 250GB from the stock 1GB ram and 160GB Hard Disk that is standard from TESO. TESO is actually in the process of making and selling a pro version of this tablet with 1366x768 screen an n455 atom processor and ddr3 ram. Other than that it has so far been looking like the same overall size and specs of this J-10 model. The unit I have runs windows 7 ultimate and it responds well. Over all the one I have is very responsive for most net-book sized windows tasks.
Now that would be damn cool if you see somebody with an iphone. They should take that little thing with em to their Micra :D
Sadly, the 3h battety ain't so good.
Exactly what I want.
Love it.
I actually like this tablet.
As a project I'd stick in my own SSD, and install a hackintosh copy on it just to show Apple how the ipad prolly should have been.
And to those who keep whining about a full blown OS on a tablet.. Well some of us need that... There are ways to tweak windows to run and not run certain ways if you just bother to try and learn how the operating system works. My god the tears are getting annoying.
