NFL Redzone Channel to air in stadiums during games

Add another use to the high definition scoreboards and displays liberally spread throughout every sports stadium these days, since the NFL announced its NFL Redzone channel will be shown during games. Replacing the NFL Films highlights package, fans at the game can see teams inside the 20 somewhere else as they happen. The RedZone channel has been an excellent addition for sports viewers at home, we'll see if it's enough to lure people away from their couch and the big screen to the stadium with its "real game atmosphere" and $10 beers.

This is NOT the channel referenced in the announcement. It is available exclusively to DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket subscribers.

This IS the channel referenced in the announcement. It is available on various pay-TV providers around the country, and will be broadcast in stadiums during NFL games on Sunday.

@UnnDunn didn't know they had an actual separate channel for DirecTV, but I'm not seeing any difference in the content beyond the logo in the corner.

They are essentially the same product, but produced by different people. RZC is produced by DirecTV for DirecTV customers wereas NFL RedZone is produced by NFL Network for... err... non-DirecTV customers.

It's like comparing MSNBC with CNN... completely separate channels and productions, but essentially the same content.

Yeah, I appreciate the live stadium experience, but I do like the presentation of an HD televised broadcast. Plus, being able to buy a 12 pack for about the same price as one beer at a stadium does make a difference. Plus, I have better bathrooms.

But then again, I live in L.A. ... so my choices are limited.

Redzone channel is the same on both Directv and other cable outlets; I log into the Sunday Ticket online using a friends info and watch the Redzone channel on Fios weekly during the season... It's the same feed

Again, I/we may be splitting hairs, but the channel is the same. Its even an accurate logo; the image was just pulled from Directv's site...
