Apple screenshot confirms iWork coming to iPhone
Well well, what's this? Our pal Stuart Miles at Pocket-lint spotted an interesting detail on one of Apple's iPhone 4 screenshots: an "Open in 'Keynote'" button while viewing an attachment in Mail. It's since been replaced by a shot that reads "Open in 'iBooks'," but it certainly seems like the iWork suite will eventually make it across the iOS range from the iPad. While we're not going to pretend like that's nearly as big a deal as Microsoft integrating Office into Windows Phone 7, it's still a welcome move, as we know more than a few people who'd like to make some work-type edits on the go. Why we didn't get a peek at this today we don't know, but we've got a feeling we'll hear more about it as June 21 gets nearer.

Cool
@jreed91
beans.
@jreed91
The HTC EVO owns the iPhone 4 in numerous ways. I like it, but 4G isn't available yet according to Sprint. I called Sprint and they couldn't tell me when we'd get it.

@H264
Side note: Has it always said quick look?
@jreed91
Yeah i noticed. Might be a bit small to really work, but the idea is really quite wonderful!
Ahum.
@jreed91 Well spotted I'm guessing it's just the renamed reader and the other option is to edit the stuff.
@gracefulspammer
What does the EVO have anything to do with this post? You trolls are just getting stupider and lazier.
@Ritskis
Its because when an event this large takes place, most comments on a page are moved onto a new page, because the comments section gets so crouded so quickly.
All he wants, is for his opinion to be heard, just leave him be.
@Fragmented Really? iWork is a better as it is so intuitive. Office has way to many levels to get to what you need.
@macman12 So intuitive that hardly anyone uses it?
awesome
I was hoping the MS post signaled the end of the Applecane. I guess not.
@sweet greggo
Don't piss the fanboys off man.
@Lexis
It's Engadget's b'day today! Let it enjoy!! ;)
@sweet greggo This is the biggest day Engadget has ever had for visitors (according to Nilay), people wan't to read about Apple today above all other days (since the iPad launch). But there is a lovely Microsoft article for you, as you mentioned.
@d0mth0ma5 Did you seriously put wan't? Wa+not? NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

@fowenati You forgot the period at the end of your "NO's".
@fowenati Yeah, yeah I did. Only excuse is that it was 1:30 am local time
Please please please....I hope they at least put some of these improvements on the 3GS, it has the hardware to do it and 4.0 is very optimized already, it's snappy as hell.
@zebrainez I think the majority of the features will be going to the 3GS, with some going to the 3G (although the standard iPhone is left for dead). Obviously the "facetime" won't be available, although you might be able to receive video calls and respond with just voice.
Quick, list every product that begins with the letter "i".
@wookieecrisp Hint: Go to http://www.apple.com/
@fowenati The vast majority of "i" products don't come from Apple.
When can we sync the iPhone with Firefox/Chrome bookmarks already?
Am I really gonna make a presentation on my phone?
Perhaps.
@impulse462 Are you going to edit one on your phone? Maybe perhaps.
@impulse462
I have made one off my ipad, not having to lug a laptop into a meeting was nice
Nice, integrated ecosystem. Mac, iPhone, iPad. Good job, Jobs
Ok so what about iChat? Was really hoping for that.....I mean WinPho7 is going to have Live Messenger....BBs have BBM.....iPhone could use iChat
@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi It would help integrate their products. Never used iChat, does that allow IM across other clients like MSN too? If so sounds like a logical decision to put it on.
@RampantNinja
Pretty sure so. I used to use iChat just like AIM. worked perfectly and it was on my Mac right away. Hassle free. Loved it.
@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi
I love the iPhone4 and I agree. Apple should make an iChat app for the iPhone. Here in my country everyone have blackberrys just because it have BBM, thats actually kinda stupid, but anyways.. I don't like Blackberrys at all, I just love their push notifications.
How come Engadget never told us about this....

@Bash2cool Did you read the liveblog? Go to 10:41am http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/07/steve-jobs-live-from-wwdc-2010/
This is fake I thought, they already deemed it fake on TUAW...
Fail.
@APV It might just mean that they aren't ready to release (or Demo yet). It hasn't been deemed as "fake" as it came from the Apple Website, but it might have been put up too soon.
@d0mth0ma5
Oh, must not have read it carefully...
Hmmm... It wouldn't be as nice as on the iPad though, considering the screen is still so small... But then, Office came out on 320x320 screens... So It may work.
@APV
yep, engadget sometimes seems so slow on fakes
Apple has just been lettin em slip lately....
They've screwed up in the past by including Flash in an iPad video. Nothing is set in stone just from what they show people.
@Shalabi
I love how you think that was a mistake lol...
@Wesscoast
So they purposely showed you that you can't have a full web experience?
Might be a mistake from art department. These "screenshots" are usually made with photoshop, not a camera. If they have been making iPad iOS4 screenshots and phone shots same time this picture might have been used in both by a mistake.
Better check if there's simiral screenshot for iPad....
I'd pretty much only use it if there's cloud syncing that isn't just for MobileMe.
From an ergonomic POV, the iPad would seem to be a better presentation platform.
Especially if the iPhone could become a remote control to the iPad?!?
Of course, if you're doing that, the iPad would be the primary display to a small table full of folk...
WTF are u talking about? The "21'st"??? NOOO. It's the 24th.
I don't see how this screenshot really "confirms" anything. I will believe it when I see the actual confirmation.
Finally-I mean WinMo has had Mobile Office for forever. I'm not saying that WinMo is great-but it has always had that one feature
@King of Smartphones Has the Iphone never had an office suite before this? Seriously!? Wow! Only 8 years behind WinMo on this one!
Alright!! When I was working on an Excel spreadsheet today on one of my twin 24" monitors, I was thinking "wish I could do this on a 3 inch screen without a mouse and a keyboard"
My wish has come trueQQ
