iOS 4 gold build now available to iPhone Developer Program members
You've got to wait a couple weeks to get this if you're the run-of-the-mill iPhone type -- but if you've ponied up the Benjamin for an iPhone Developer Program membership (who's probably suffered through a handful of iPhone OS 4 beta builds over the last few months), you're now able to download the Gold Master seed of iOS 4 directly from Apple's site. Let us know if you manage to sprout a front-facing cam on your 3GS to test FaceTime or anything cool like that, alright?
Update: We just updated to iOS 4 GM and haven't noticed anything particularly new or crazy yet. The install requires a beta of iTunes 9.2 to be installed as well, which adds in support for app folders and backups, but otherwise life is proceeding just like it did when we had beta 3 installed. We'll let you know if we spot anything as we go.

Can you install this with just itunes 9.2 and the ipsw file, or do you need Xcode 3.2.3 and the iphone sdk?
@sl86 You just need iTunes 9.2 and the IPSW. Also, you need to be on the developer program right now (in case you didn't know this).
iTunes 9.2 has got some nice new album art transitsions http://youtu.be/HVzo_ib5xGU
I saw some new features that I haven’t seen yet in other tech blogs (well, the ones i frequent visit) this might have been mentioned earlier but I can’t read through all the comments so…
**If you go to settings>international, you would see that you can chage the calendar format from 4 settings (Gregorian, Japanese, Buddhist, Chinese) **Notes can be synched to you MobileMe account when you go to email setting (assuming you have a MobileMe account) **You can check/uncheck the Calendars that you want to appear on the Calendar app instead of just going to them individually. You also have the option to hide all calendars. **Voice Memo icon has a slightly different look. (or maybe it’s only the effect that my wallpaper does to some icons. LOL)
So far, those are the only subtle changes that I’ve seen plus the Major ones.
PS: MMS is working on my phone, tried multitasking but it seems it “not” really working yet on the 3rd party apps. (maybe because the 3rd party apps are not yet configured for real multitasking)
plus, I had an issue with my photos after the update. Quality became degraded. you may need to re-sync your photos again. Mine looks ok after re-synching.
Something I havent seen anybody mention so far is that it allows you to do an upgrade now instead of a full restore.
WHOA! DO NOT INSTALL IF YOU NEED TO SYNC WITH A WINDOWS MACHINE!!! It will tell you it cannot connect to this iPhone because it requires iTunes 9.2. Basically I cant sync my iPhone for the next week now because I ssync at home and upgrade it the office. DAAAAAAAAAAAMN APPLE!
@Sepirioth
Thanks for that warning. I almost did just that...I guess I can wait a week.
