im kinda excited though... can't wait to see what's in store for the Apple peeps. maybe i'll be coerced for once :D
@skyblaze i'm looking for more information on the trackpad that will probably be $20 more than I want to spend. besides that I'm not sure, but I always like surprises.

@skyblaze
Is it time yet? I'm so ready for a trans-warp iPhone.
Hey it’s WWDC time and you know what that means? The first annual Engadget Drinking Game!
RULES:
Drink one shot of your favourite beverage every time there is a WWDC or Apple post. No alcohol if you under age kids!
Drink two shots for every round up post or second post about a single feature.
That’s right let’s put aside the flame wars this year. Why get all riled up at the lovely Engadget staff when they can facilitate your drinking?
DISCLAMER:
This is not an anti or pro Apple game, if anything it is a pro drinking game.
Posting comments on Engadget while intoxicated is harmful to you and those around you so don’t do it kids!
I have played with the iPhone 4G http://bit.ly/appleiphone4g & it is nice but the new Android phones are catching up fast! Steve better have something really good up his sleeve today or I might be getting a Dell Streak instead.
@skyblaze Will he be wearing the same cloth? >_>
@skyblaze
Poor Apple Haters.
Todays gonna be a rough day for you guys.
@BrookLynnsFinest
sigh.
@skyblaze
iPhone HD for all carriers, that's my guess
@BrookLynnsFinest
you HAVE to be London Exchange... i can sense your very essence in comments now (banned yet again, huh)
rough? hardly. I'll either be laughing at how much I don't want this phone (and be satisfied with what I have... like most normal people) or I WILL want this phone (hence the coerced part of my previous comment) in which case I will buy it. because people buy what they want. It's one or the other, buddy... nothing rough in that equation, savvy?
@skyblaze
No like the typical Apple Hater you'll be dying for Apple to give you what you want (even though Apple doesn't owe you shit).
And then you'll convince yourself that android is somehow better than the iPhone 4G and proceed to talk shit about Apple Supporters like myself who like the iPhone and call us stupid.
@BrookLynnsFinest
If they have a horse run by dressed as a unicorn to symbolize all of their magic it would make my day.
@BrookLynnsFinest
I couldn't care less what Apple does or doesn't do...sure it's interesting and fun to follow (this is a tech site... so I'm naturally here for tech shizzle... Apple or not) but I'm not going to be butthurt over anything they do
And I don't recall calling any Apple supporter stu-
*remembers who he's talking to*
I don't recall calling any sane, rational, intelligent Apple supporter stupid...
@BrookLynnsFinest you realise people you brand 'apple haters' are generally the ones who have a clue right? the ones who see through the marketing BS? still, I must admit I'm interested to see what new products they announce and whether my next phone will start with an i or be andriod-based? Oh - and whether they finally announce they're killing the mac platform to focus on mobile.
@Bloo Q Kazoo
I'm in. I ran a test run of your game on last year's announcement and am pretty trashed already. It's not even 10 AM yet, let's have some fun today!
@BrookLynnsFinest
Oh No, not at all. I'm not necessarily an apple hater... in fact, it'll be nice to see the iPhone finally get multitasking and active home screen widgets and an upgraded camera...
...you know - the stuff that Android and even WebOS have had for a little while now.
@BrookLynnsFinest +1
Giggidy!
really hope to hear something about the vzw iphone, i has da monies steve, give me a reason to buy buy buy
*twitch*
Imagine Apple won't be releasing any new iPhone!
It would be EPIC WIN/ FAIL ?
@crazyalaa replaced with a tiny iPad, it's not like the iPhone can make calls anyways, consumers would save $40/month & be able to use Skype:). That could be classified as your win/fail, and in years past I wanted an iPod touch with data (though as time goes on and wifi expands it becomes less and less of a need).
@juanvaldez i forgot to make the cute little ;) after my phone call line, that's like the garlic protecting you from vampires here, right??? eh, who am I kidding, but kids, I was kidding. I never had many dropped calls when I used the iPhone but that was up until about 6 months before the 3GS came out so I'm not sure how things changed after that mass influx.
@crazyalaa
this would give the excuse I need to ditch my iphone 3g and get the dell streak!
Can't wait to see what Steve Jobs in store for all the Apple junkies alike.
@NewYorkerKid
I'm hoping for a new Mac Mini with a Core i5/i7 with HDMI
And of course the new iPhone!
I'm hoping the back-of-the-phone gesture control patent is true too!
Livestream of the event as well, for those who want to watch:
http://theappleblog.com/live/
@MarkCohen *skeptical* i thought Apple doesn't allow video.
@MarkCohen
It's been done before. You just don't get asked to the next event. Ask Leo Laporte.
@MarkCohen
That's not going to be live *video* coverage, just live-blogging like on Engadget.
Jeez...You'd swear the nukes were incoming with the hourly updates. WE KNOW IT'S TODAY!
What's the "One more thing" this time?
We already know about the new iPhone, there must be something better?
@Ashley32
It's a shame but I thought the "One More Thing" thing had actually stopped. Certainly they can't be relied upon, which rather feels like a band buggering off without coming back on stage for an encore. While I'm generally opposed to the encore concept, I do remember going to one concert where the artist finished and left the stage but yet we waited around for quite a while before eventually concluding that it really was all over. For a while we cheered any roadie that appeared on stage...
Whats with the double posting? Bad enough that these things get doubled up already on my RSS feed thanks to EngadgetMobile, but now 4 posts!
@MatthewJ hah. Mobile posts so little and since it's not really "front-page worthy" I try to just check the calendar view once or twice a week.
@MatthewJ
Dude...just play the drinking game, then you can enjoy the keynote drunk...won't that be enlightening! 4 Posts, that means 4 shots...Might I suggest Drambouie or some Jameson Irish Whiskey there...there is always a silver lining to our woes.
@HateiPhoneFanboys Where's the video chat? I want to see the video chat in action. That is all I want to see!
again?
I really hope you guys at Engadget don't think we're as stupid as Apple takes us for and therefore posting the same article about an upcoming event several times within juts a few hours....
We know there will be a live blog, and most of us (myself included) will be tuned in and soaking up every last word, but until then please refrain from making even more duplicate posts. Thanks
@abedinthehouse Well, we needed a post dated today with "liveblog today" in the hed for our little top5 module, and plus we have tens of millions of additional readers on Apple days, so we need to remind them what's happening.
Everything will be back to normal soon enough, for now let's just all enjoy the fun, shall we?
@Nilay Patel
Agreed, and enjoyed!
Loved all the great coverage you guys have been doing, keep it up...I'm assuming traffic today was up in the top 5 for you guys. lol
But yea I pretty much figured with the whole top 5 module thing.
Think the best part about going through Engadget today was not the new of iPhone 4 but the fact that an Engadget Staff (you of all people, whom I'd say is in the top 5 of the most important people to the site) replied to one of my posts in a day like this. lol
Even though that may or may not have been due to the wording of my comment. lol
But hey, it's good to know you guys try to keep the peace and look after your fan base even in such fanatical times.
Thanks
@Nilay Patel
Btw, if their such great Apple fans, which there is no doubt that thy are....you would think they'd remember something like this without having to be reminded. lols
But hey that might say more about the characteristics of (insert company) fanboys than anything else....they just like to hear news about their admired company.
@osk Apple fanboyism, terrible.
@iPhoneKiller21 I'd want to see it open to people outside the Apple community, sure there are plenty of iPhone users but it might be nice to communicate with the rest of your friends and family, too.
@Engadget
2 reminders on 1 page? Really?
I am currently a Droid user and not to fond of apple but I must admit if a new beast of an iPhone is announced I might be tempted to join the cult.
@mcydeeze
well if this doesn't go well there could be lots of people joining you guys ;)
@SeeKo Actually 3 if you exclude the 1 that shows up in the "most commented" & "on Twitter Sections". You forgot the one that stays on the top of the page to remind all new comers, and now we can get upto 7 if these get retweeded and commented enough, LULZ.
any live video or audio this time?
Ipad on Verizons network(as a foot in the door for the iphone)...I'm calling it now.
