iPhone 4 at Best Buy for launch, at least 45 devices per store?
Oh, and RadioShack fanatics? Yeah, we've heard you can head down there for launch, too, but we don't yet have a clue as to how many will be in stock.
Apple iPhone 4
A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
The more I see the iPhone the more I start to want it.
At first I was like, eh this is pretty cool, might get it, but probably won't preorder.
then, I was like, alright, yeah this is actually really nice, I'm starting to like the design a lot more.
and now I'm all excited to get one.
Engadget basically sold it to me by showing it off so much on the site
@John Lennon
And thus all the constant advertising that Engadget was either paid to to show or blatant fanboys about has worked, you now want the product. Another victim of subliminal messaging.
So the question is, can we buy the no-commitment ones for $599 or $699 and walk out the store without any contract at all? I have a 3G with prepaid simcard and although thinking to apply for a contract but at least I'd like to know what's my option.
everyone else is waiting on line. im just gonna pre order it june 15 :)
Once I look at a 4.3" screen, I never settle for less.
U sound just like the big boss job himself.
Is this so called iphone the evo 4g killer?
seems like "if you pass the credit check" is on everything related to pricing for this thing, i've never been denied (?), was an at&t customer and am now a verizon customer, so i have no clue but what happens when one doesn't pass the credit check? do they require a deposit? show you the door and tell you to try another carrier? only sell you pre-paid?
@aaronaut There's no prepaid on the iphone. If you don't pass the credit check you either have to pay a deposit or if your credit is really really bad ATT will refuse you flat out. Whether you can buy a full price phone remains to be seen but in the past Apple has not offered them until right before a new phone or if you bring in a phone that you damaged and thus isn't covered. so we shall see.
Os4 is 2 year old os compared to android 2.2
@markolic I think you should get another android device.
am i the only one sick of this iphone news/ e3 is coming.. i need an orgasm. iphone is evrywhere!!!!!!!
If I pre-order the iPhone, can I pick it up June 25th? I wont be back in the states till late the 24th
I usually bash apple at any opportunity and always have yet they finally got the profile right with the 4th gen unit. And I must say it looks better with the white faceplate. Now if they make a unit in size between this and the ipad I'll buy another apple product.
@Amusednow
I think this is one of Apple's nicest looking devices in a long time but I still like to mock them whenever possible. Terrible, terrible company.
Questions:
Will the iMovie app run on a 3Gs?
Also will there be a version for the iPad?
Also, what is the absolutely most simple 'iMovie' like program that i can edit video with on my PC? All the well known ones confuse me so much that I struggle even to figure out how to make simple cuts.
@Slvrgun
Hey, well you may call ATT a dirty network, but iphone 4 is one hell of a device. And heck, with all the other features it has, i might not even use it as a phone.
@Technologeee
I still want one. I want one now. This is what an upgrade is Apple. I love it already.I also like wihte.
Apple iPhone 4 Reviews - Not Just Rumour: http://www.aneesoft.com/tutorials/iphone/apple-iphone-4g-reviews.html
Are you a g
3.5" display is way too small these days. Looks even smaller on the pictures.
You know what, the white iPhone 4 really reminds me of the white N97. LOL.
@mikmik111
LOL Love your parody. Nicely done. ;-)
Wow it looks so tiny. And then there's the screen. This is why i'm waiting until they pull the finger out and make a bigger screen.
@Technologeee
I don't usually like apples products, but that is a nice looking phone. Good ol' british design.
@mikmik111 *sniff* *sniff* HMMmmm... familiar smell... OHHH yeah, that's the smell of a douche. Man I hate that smell.
This is my first time getting an iPhone on launch day, still on iPhone 2G, so I was curious. If I pre-order on the 15th is the phone going to be delivered to my door or do I need to still get it from the store? Also if it comes to my door will it include the micro sim?
That thing look Kirfer by the minute.
Best Buy, sleazeballs extraordinaire. RadioShack, idiots unsurpassed. Who's next, slimy Sears? Why pick companies with the worst customer service? Apple should be more selective about who they partner with if they really care so much about their image.
If they want to go for the masses, even Wal-Mart would be better. Or Costco. Or, heck, a supermarket chain.
Can you believe I had a chance to get an iPhone 4 and instead we got a Palm Pixi Plus! The wife was due for upgrade and here was my reasonable offer. She takes my 3Gs and I get the new 4......uh, she said no....and promptly bought the Pixi Plus.
I need a hug! =-(
I have a white 3GS and the one thing I don't like about the designs is that the black glass front of it doesn't match up with the white back. Once you put it in a case you can't even tell that it is the white model at all. But, seeing the all (or mostly) white iPhone 4, I'm not 100% sure if I like that either. I keep flip flopping on it. I would like to see the two colors in person to make my decision. Will Apple put these up on display at Apple stores before pre-orders start, or at least when pre-orders start?
That looks like a toy compared to HTCs big dog
@nwhat Your the only toy here and I'm laughing at you.
I will pay TWICE as much as the price for the iPhone 4 - if you get it on 24th and ship it to me (international).
Wanna-wanna-wanna!
Where I am, 45 per store is what they had of the 3GS last year. And they took deposits down on pre-orders. On launch day, all the units in stock were sold out to pre-orders.
@Fragmented i was thinking the same thing. Unless I had no choice I wouldn't go to either shop. Mainly because they don't do reservations etc. I would rather be able to go online, put my name on a launch day list and now, even if I have to stand in live for 3 hours, I will have a phone waiting for me. literally with my name on it.
Not to mention that in my area the staff of the 2 local radio shacks and the best buy are rather stupid. Especially about Apple stuff.
@Charlik
Best buy will be preordering them with a $50 deposit to guarantee you an available iPhone on launch day...assuming you preorder early
People are going to kill for this phone
When do preorders start at Best Buy? Is it the 15th like Apple?
iPod touch vs iPhone :winner is iPod touch cuz more free stuff
