Conspiracy theory: what happened to the EVO 4G vs. iPhone 4 post?

We had a debate yesterday as to whether or not it was fair to compare a phone we did a thorough review on (the EVO 4G -- you can read all about how awesome we think it is right here) to a phone we only had a short time to play with (the new iPhone). I was in the latter group, but not around when that post was written or put up on the site. As a result, when I came back and saw it had been posted, I pulled. Not because the EVO 4G was winning in the poll. Not because it said nice things about the EVO 4G. I pulled it simply because I didn't think it was fair to make the comparison yet. In hindsight, we should have made that clear from the start, and I apologize.
So, the post will go back up... once we've had a chance to look at both phones completely. In the meantime, the poll is below, and we seriously have no preference on which phone wins. Do your worst guys.

Both phones look like something out of a sci-fi movie. It's amazing to think how far they have come over the last few years. Apple reinvented the concept of what a phone can be and do and everyone else followed, but they've now caught up and Apple can't keep transforming the market with every update, or perhaps ever again in this product category.
I've never even owned a smartphone as I've been waiting for phones like these to come to market. I'll be opting for the iPhone, but not because it's better. I've just owned an iPod touch (1st gen) for years now and it's what I'm used to. Use it every day and love the thing.

I cant believe the iPhone sold 600,000 in just 18 hours!
The launch day is really going to be a mess!
I hope all the stores that will have them be very organized and have high security because I certainly dont want to see someones finger get ripped off again.
How many do you think they will sell in the first week?
Im thinkin 5-7 million, given the huge demand rate, and given the fact that there were 13 MILLION eligibility checks the day the pre orders went live, which realistically equals out to about 4-7 Million legit checks.
I could see them selling 4 million easy. I'm hoping I'll be able to get one on June 24th since I tucked up and didn't preorder. I could kick myself in the ass! Lol Do you think Jobs will push back the launch in other countries? And also did you see the reports of it having 512 mb of ram? And also which color you like batter? I like the black one.

I think now that Apple knows the amount of demand the phone has in the US, they will be able to produce more than enough for an international release, but then again.. There may be more Canadians who want the iPhone 4 than there are US citizens, and then you have all of the other populated countries like China and Russia.. All I can say about that is.. Apple sure knows how to create an attractive device, and it blows me away how so many people are getting this.
I was having a hard time deciding which color I should get, and for the longest time I was going to go for the White one, but then I weighed in the pros and cons of each (that i made up) and in the end I decided to go with the black one. Im getting the black 16GB iPhone 4, ill be waiting a couple weeks after the Canadian release date, just to make sure that it is as good as they say, and that there arent any major issues, and it will give me time to read reviews and try it at stores.
I cant decide weather or not to buy the no-commitment one or to buy it at a subsidized price, because im 18 and I have never been locked to a contract and I dont like the sound of being locked in for 3 years. Im signing with Rogers btw.
And yes I did hear about the awesome rumour about the iPhone having 512mb! I am extremely excited about this iPhone and I cant wait to see the developers make with the incredible power and pixel density of the phone!
I also cant wait to see what the jailbreak community learns from the new implementations for multitasking and other changes in iOS4.
I think now that Apple has shown everyone how they want multitasking done, the jailbreak community will evolve from that and make their programs a hell of alot more power efficient.
As you can probably already tell, I am extremely excited for this device, its so sexy, its so thin, its so powerful. The fact that their UI is the best of the best, and they have the ultimate app store and cydia store back up just makes it that much more amazing.

The iPhone 4, has changed my life, and it isnt even in my frikkin hands yet..!
Ok I'm gonna start by saying I'm 32, with that said I'm extremely excited about this phone too! I'm gonna try to get it on launch day so I'll try and let you know my personal impressions on the phone after I have it. And I'll will be extending my contract for two years but i agree with you about 3 year contract not sounding too great. Have a good day!
in the end everything comes to choose between android or iphone. For me, it is clearly android: you don't need to pay for anything to make it functional, and you can test the application for 24hours before paying for it. And the applications I use the most come free with android, like track, google navigator, different language keyboards...
The fact is that you can't see iphone pro comments cause motherfuckers downranked them LOL. But really, iphone users buy an iphone and then, for a year, they don't care what happens in the smartphone world while android users have to be up to date so the won't lose "the best phone out there". Android is good but ,the majority would choose the iphone.

I know that the performance isn't used at max today but in the future, apple can stretch out iphone's performance while the EVO is already at MAX. Cheers android!
