An iPad stuffed inside an iBook not your cup of tea? Then perhaps this Macintosh Classic mod will be better suited to your more discerning, old school tastes. As you might expect, there's not a lot involved in this one -- just some gutted internals and an opening on the side that lets you slip in an iPad, which magically fits just where the old CRT used to be. Because it is fun, playful and nostalgic!
I used a SE-30 for years and to see the iPad UI in the old case brings a smile to my face.
BTW smiling helps reduce the hate and anger.....
@maxxum Colour on a Classic just looks wierd... should've used a Colour Classic case instead. And the glossy iPad screen matches the Trinitron on the Colour Classic.
Someone should do an original "Bondi Blue" iMac next.

@Kid Red How is my post anti-apple? I was pointing out that Engadget has once again left an apple post without the apple tag, which means those of us who are tired of non-stop iPad posts (370+ and counting) have no way of filtering them out.
It's not like I hate Apple or their products. I own an ipod shuffle and I bought my wife an iPhone for her birthday. I just think that Engadget has jumped the shark with their iPad coverage.

I'm not a Mac user now, but I used them back in the day (something very similar to this model), and I think it's awesome too.

Seriously...we get it-you can shove an iPad in anything larger than it that's old and unused and probably an Apple product. It's getting pretty unoriginal mod-wise and none of these mods are particularly impressive (throwing out the internals and shoving a pad inside is not exactly elite modding).

So let me make a suggestion: don't buy it. Save your "hate" for actually "bad" things, like Hitler and mobile phone exclusivity agreements.
I like this mod more. But I am more into desktops than laptops.

i was wondering that myself as soon as i saw it. how the hell do you get back to home screen? i'm assuming there's a mechanism for hitting it inside that must get activated by a button pres or something? maybe the floppy eject? is that a floppy drive there?
