The phone, the myth,
the Legend has just become available over in Canada, giving North Americans their first taste of that aluminum unibody construction. It's looking highly likely that this is the same handset we saw
gracing the FCC's pages not too long ago, indicating that Yanks should be getting in on the fun relatively soon as well. AT&T already let
one HTC cat slip out of the bag today, guess this confirms the Liberty won't be feeling lonely in Ma Bell's Android cupboard whenever it does launch. And hey, Canadian friends, just think of the Legend as consolation for your teams not sniffing the Stanley Cup the past three years.
With the iPhone 4 announcement, my interest in upgrading from a "traditional" candybar phone is rising. I'm with Virgin Mobile and love them (or more precisely, their prices). I'm hoping to find a decent competitor to the iPhone 4 at a good price. The price here is good, but Engadget's review of the phone is very disappointing... this isn't the phone that's going to draw my eye away from the iPhone 4.
This is so weird. i was literally looking at this phone on virgin mobile Canada all morning, and thought the legend had been available for a while now. my contract is up at bell near the end of the month (it was 3 years :( ). Bell is getting the Legend on June 16, and they already have one for the staff to play with in store and get accustomed. It was a nice Phone to see in person. :D
Actually we just got the Acer liquid E running 2.1. That's way better than the Quench.
damn, that thing makes iphone bezel look like nothing
They have 3yr contracts in canada!? Ouch!
Hmm. $350 and works on Rogers? I might bite to get rid of my HTC Magic.
I was wondering when the unibody bandwagon would get started.
Don't let the releases scare you off the Android. Even running 1.5 on a Magic running HTC Sense you can still multitasking. The new iPhone is finally multitasking capable.
I agree there has to be a better roadmap for release, but from the Magic, Dream to Nexus One they are wicked phones.
And remember...you can mod your phone easily!
Kyle Beach, Brian Bickell, Dave Boland, Nick Boynton, Troy Brouwer, Brian Campbell, Cory Crawford, Jassen Cullimore, Ben Eager, Colin Fraser, Jordan Hendry, Duncan Keith, Andrew Ladd, Shawn Lalonde, John Madden, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Sharp, Brent Sopel, Jonathan Toews and Kris Versteeg.
20 Canadians that just won a Stanley Cup on Wednesday. Jonathan Toews, the captain and playoff MVP is from Winnipeg. Sadly, he can't get this phone.
Does anyone know if the Legend is coming to Sprint?! I've got the EVO, and my wife is kinda' over her Pixi...wants to get in on the Android goodness.
Oh Canaduh ~!
"Canadian friends, just think of the Legend as consolation for your teams not sniffing the Stanley Cup the past three years."
Not even a fan of hockey... but, ouch*. lolz n1. Oh wait, I'm writing this out with the Legend. (my buddies, I just got the XPERIA) Can you do that with that stuffy old cup? No?
I was hoping for this to come to AT&T but I doubt Legend or Desire isn't coming here to the states can only get it buy it UNLOCKED. Legend and Desire are made for Canada and Europe and rest of the world. I think I lost my hopes already since non of these aint coming to the STATES for AT&T. So I will wait till my contract is done and move else where. Just hate AT&T so badly right now for not getting good phone for us consumers that have AT&T. I Don't even want the HTC Liberty/Intruder. Besides AT&T tells manufactures to built cheap hardware just like the BackFlip.
@Inspector Gadget80 At $350 CAD Outright + $10 Unlock code. That's not a shabby deal.
They may be american teams, but the majority of their players, especially star players, are Canadian. i.e. Toews, Seabrook, Campbell, Keith, Bolland, Brouwer, Ladd, Sharp, Versteeg, to name a few.
I saw this article, turned away to my other side and farted so loud due to the sheer irrelevancy of this article I may to have to change the sheets.
Oh so hilarious considering who exactly it is getting your cups for you along with MVP...
That's alright, we'll be over here polishing our Olympic Gold Medals if you need us...
We've actually had this phone in Norway (that's in Europe, Americans!). And though it is a very pretty phone, if you're an above average smartphone user you'd rather go with the HTC Desire (snapdragon). The Desire is a very simalar phone to the Nexus one, only with a little bit more RAM and physical buttons.
I have a X10 and a Legend, the build quality on Legend is just fantastic, the best I've seen so far. Its fast and sense UI works lovely.
Good thing most of the players on the blackhawks are canadian :p
HTC should put more visible software difference between models or they will get into the trouble Nokia is now getting out of (lots of phones with differences only in hardware)...
I'll keep my Nexus One on Wind.
The killer app of the phone for me is service on Wind. Unlimited voice. Unlimited data. Unlimited long distance. Unlimited messaging. No contract.
"Not available in Saskatchewan or Manitoba" Ffffuuuuuu.
Rogers has HSPA+ don't they? What are the "network differences?" Aren't most if not all Canadian carriers GSM now? I got a txt this weekend from Rogers saying since Sasktel is testing their 3G network, my Rogers coverage might periodically get knocked out. Lame.
@stokd I bought one outright in Calgary, unlocked it for $10 and stuck my fido sim in. Works golden.
thank god us australians can already get it
