@plbelanger Hey, people were emailing asking for a run-down of their options, so we threw one together. People like stuff, you know. They don't just hate other stuff.
No Apple fans need a how to on everything. Don't you know? /s
I do find this a bit errr pathetic but it is par for the course here. But don't worry they will smatter meaningless google/ms articles soon but probably glance over the Galaxy S.
Of course I can't really complain they gave/give the Dell Streak plenty of coverage and while that phone won't be as big(figuratively) as the iPhone I definitely appreciate the coverage Engadget has given so far.
@plbelanger There are 13 articles since the last mention of the iphone on engadget, and those articles are all about microsoft products. We cant have that
@plbelanger I'm glad I already have a phone - I'm not really sure how to pre-order an iPhone in the UK; and this article doesn't help me at all! I'd probably just sit at home staring at the door, waiting.
Yeah, aside from inventory shortages I don't imagine someone that really wants an iPhone will have a hard time trying to hand over their money to Apple...
And to the point that if they did this for other platforms other fanbois would come in and say the same thing... sure, they might, except that Engadget doesn't do it for other platforms. And even if they did, it's still pointless and stupid. Anyone who can't figure out how to pre-order a smartphone isn't advanced enough to even use the phone they want to buy anyways.
@plbelanger If I were paranoid I'd say the preorders aren't that complicated, engadget just wanted to insert a iphone article into all these microsoft articles.
But I'm not paranoid so I won't mention it. Doesn't mean it isn't true though.
@Nilay Patel Seriously, thank you for this! I've been trying to decide what to do/where to go and this really helped me narrow things down so I can finally get some sleep! lol Dunno what's with all the haters on here but oh well, I for one, appreciate the article!
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Pre-orders are so complicated we need a how-to now engaget?
How is it complicated? If engadget was to offer a 'how to' the fanboys of other phones would scream and cry lol.
@plbelanger
I'm going with the other article - How not to pre-order the iPhone 4
@plbelanger
Tomorrow we'll get how-to-spend our hard earned money to buy the Iphone.
- Pay electric, grocery, gas bill a week later
etc, etc,

@plbelanger
If you have to write instructions on how to pre-order an item, they blew it.

@Mike Vick
hmm... Engadget alleges that Apple users need help how tp pre-order...hmm hmm...
@Nilay Patel
Thanks for the article. I've been waiting for this one to pop up all day.
I plan on ordering online, but I was hoping for a little more info about when it will go live. I guess even you guys don't know that yet :(

@reallynotnick: In Soviet Russia, iPhone pre-orders you.
@plbelanger
I like how giz had the same how to article up before lunch- this is a little more of the "why" with your "how-tooy" though
@plbelanger I can't wait for the "how to pre-order Droid X" article...
@plbelanger I can't wait for the next article: "How to stand in line for the iPhone 4 (update: legs and feet work best)"
