TwistDock is the PS3 organizer for M. Night Shyamalan fans
Looking for a dock... with a twist? Frankly we weren't either, but that didn't stop us from being intrigued by the aptly titled TwistDock for the PS3 from Vogel's, a docking station for a console that we didn't think needed one. On the front the TwistDock houses a PS3, either original or Slim, and on the back (here comes the twist) two controllers can be slotted in and charged, shown after the break. There's also a USB hub for connecting other goods and overall it pledges to keep your layout "clean, stylish and sexy." That would be lovely progression from our current entertainment center's "dusty, cluttered and tangly" label. Can it deliver? It's on display at this year's E3, and we'll go see for ourselves.

Looks interesting.
@j2daake
yes, the ps3 is now completely wireless and inoperable.
What a twist, Engadget! I see what u did there ;)
@j2daake
TIMBEEEEEER!!!
very nice, but i suspect it'll cost more than it's worth
@mrqs indeed... also they should have released this long time ago.
I know this isn't the right place to post this but I just have to know...
Is there such thing as a Yahoo fanboy? I mean are there ANY? I've googled the term and nothing comes up.
@TheHypnotist
I have no idea why you're asking this question, and suspect that your personal problems are bizarre and complex.
In the immediate instance however, surely your mistake has been to 'google' for information on the issue.
@TheHypnotist
You should have "Yahoo'd" for the info instead.
@TheHypnotist Yahooligans I suggest
@TheHypnotist no Only xbox hahaha
If not too much, I'd definitely buy one.
Sure this was announced a couple weeks ago.
Given the size of a PS3 this could only work with the setup pictured i.e. on a top shelf by itself. I know my TV stand would not be able to cater for a PS3 on it's side.
Besides... it's looks stupid anyway IMO
You know what... I really like that...
I'm liking the rotating function even more, though I imagine it has the potential to become a real inconvenience with all those cables hanging out your ps3s bum.
There should be better stands out there, I want one. I'm not convinced that this is the one i'm after though. I don't get the whole tilt thing. USB hub great. Controller charger, sure. Tilted stand, why?
@davedrastic
More like why not?
That the coolest and most usless thing I've ever seen. I want it now!
Although still have big ass first gen PS3
@kutt
Me too. I wonder if it's compatible with the phatty?
@krisq: it says it is in the article.
The problem is, it might not look so sleek is all.
Yes this was on Joystiq a couple weeks back. I liked it but would I spend €80+shipping on it? Probably not.
There’s also the fact that my girlfriend probably doesn’t want my PS3 becoming an object d’art in our front room.
I do like the pass-through ports for power and HDMI though, nice and clean. It’s missing a cradle if some sort for the official blu-ray remote but maybe that would be overkill.
Their main site is here but there’s not much of it: http://twistdock.info/
Sexy
The PS3 rotates slowly to reveal the weapon in the back.
JUDITH IS THE KILLER!
No John, it was a game all along...
A FILM BY M. Night Shyamalan
@pintozoz
Such a twist*!
Not gonna lie though, it looks damn nice. And the fact that it has passthrough for power and HDMI is a big plus. I was concerned on the cables sticking out at the bottom. Hmm... Don't know if want. If only the PS3 logo was right side up...
€79,- here in the Netherlands, so that's just below the $100,- mark I guess. Tough Vogels products have an excellent build quality in my experience, that is still a lot of money...
looks pretty small, I didn't think anyone could picture the PS3 small
@henkvandervelden Because of the huge empty space, and the corner of the TV which makes it seem like its a 52 inch TV.
Angles and illusions.
@pintozoz the same way the always let the PS3 look like it's slim and not at all high? ;)
Under $40 and it's mine.
@cjwild you are dreaming buddy - its going to at least 100 bucks...
hopefully not! I WANT ONE! :/
I'd buy one as I hate all the cables being on display. Does make you question why the hell Sony didn't put USB sockets at the back on the PS3 Slim!?!
I can't believe that I'll have to wait til the end of the year to get one.
@DVS
To make it more accessible to connect the USB charging cables for the PS3 controller, as well as any flash drive you might want to plug in. If you have the PS3 placed in a location where the plugs might be hard to reach in the back, the amount of complaints they'd get would be through the roof.
@pintozoz
It just looks messy though imo. I have PlayTV and having USB sockets at the back (for something I never remove) would make more sense. One of the original PS3s had sockets at the back (as well as the front).
@DVS Yeah they could have added some in the back, I don't know why they scrapped it. I won't lie, it's something that bothered me at first, but since I have my PC directly next to my PS3, it doesn't bother me having the controllers charging through my PC's USB connection and leaving the PS3 clear of extra wires.
@DVS
your cables will still be on display. you have to power the damn thing and get it connected to your tv, right?
@gunboatD
I got discreet (flat) cables for power, network and HDMI so they aren't seen.
@gunboatD If you haven't taken time to hide your cables behind your wall. I have y setup very nice. TV seems to be floating and you can't see any cables connecting any of the peripherals.
if only it had slots to charge the Move Controllers....
looks pretty cool i think.
this video i found of it sealed the deal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZdSWXSmIJk&feature=related
@jrdjarrold That is by far the sickest ad for an add-on I have ever seen.
Also, explains why it's so expensive. They torn down a PS3 to build it.
Damn, I want one, but not at that price tag.
That looks really nice, if I had a PS3 Slim I might consider it.
But, I have a 'fatty', which I know is supposed to be compatible but I doubt it would look as nice.
That and my only other potential issue would be that I'd prefer to have the controllers charging on the other side of the room by the sofa, not all the way over there by the TV.
While checking their website, it show's it should be available here in july from Netherlands :
https://dynabyte.nl/artikel/7124161/Vogel's_TwistDock_voor_PS3
79.99 Euros = 97.763778 U.S. dollars
If there is a disk in the PS3, and it's slanted in that position, isn't it going to scratch it or something?
@MarcinK
lol I have a Slim and have picked it up and turned it on its side without any problems. It ain't no Xbox 360 :D
[Directed By M. Night Shyamalan]
i like
It won't look as good with the 2 cords (Power and HDMI) hanging off the PS3. Oh shit. And I have the optical off of it for the surround sound. Dammit its gunna look stupid
@elckicker NVM i didn't know it had sexy cable managment with it
Robot Chicken!
