Apple Store goes down as iPhone 4 pre-order prep enters final stages

The Apple Store has just gone into maintenance mode globally in preparation for the launch of iPhone 4 pre-orders, and our readers seem intent on bringing down our tip inbox as well. Steady yourselves, chaps (and ladies), the fun starts when the Store goes back up so let's pace ourselves with all the excitement. We'll alert you as soon as that happens, but for now, let's go easy on the old tip jar, eh? It's not made of Gorilla Glass, you know.

Update: AT&T's online portal is showing an iPhone 4 pre-order front end, but is yet to offer users the actual option to order the phone up. See a screenshot of it after the break.

Dude, it's so nice to hear someone that doesn't use the iPhone but wishes everyone the best no matter what device they choose. I'm sick of all the losers that try to make this a constant metaphorical e-dick measuring contest. @Faxmonkey Well apparently they aren't selling the White ones until later, so i',m guessing the black ones are the ones that are gonna show up right now.

I prefer black myself, but that white iPhone 4 looks extremely nice. BUT i am a proud EVO owner, guess i'll just have to wait for the next gen iPod Touch ^_^

yes, you usualy have 30 days or so with apple products to add the waranty (might even be 90 but im not sure about that)

@decemberdays27 yup. great thing about Apple products. You can buy Apple Care ANYTIME during the standard 1 yr warranty of the device. I bought Apple Care for my MBP the day before it was 1 yr old. And if you buy it now, the coverage doesn't overlap the standard 1yr like every other warranty, so you get a full 3 years. not 1 overlapping and 1 from the extended plan.

Sorry, that's not true. No matter when you buy the protection plan, it only covers the device for 2 years TOTAL. I wish it worked like you said, though!
